Title: He Is Not Here, He Is Risen
Contents
He is not here, but is risen.
Luke 24:1-12
1. The Lord Appears to Those Who Seek
After the Lord's resurrection, He was on the earth for forty days. In the meantime, the Lord has revealed Himself to many people. The event in which the Lord appeared first met those who sought Him. If we truly seek and desire to meet the Lord, the Lord will find us. It means that He appears Himself in the field of our lives. He appeared to the discouraged disciples, to the fearful women, and to those who fled in fear.
2. Do you seek the living among the dead?
He said to the fearful women in the empty tomb, Why do you seek the living among the dead? Because Jesus was risen, there was no reason to be in the tomb. That is why the living cannot be found among the dead. Christianity is a living religion. They do not believe in the risen Lord and try to search through the pleasures of the world to meet him. We can never meet. Because the properties are completely different. You can never find recycling in anything without God. Resurrection is the sure proof for the atonement of sins. It is the condition of victory in our lives. If we persevere, that is why we have to live. So, in the midst of tribulation and persecution, the words that the early church members shared while evangelizing was “Jesus is risen.
3. Faith in the resurrection is the true faith.
Jesus rebuked the disciples for their lack of faith. The disciples denied the Lord and ran away. But what the Lord rebuked was not that they denied or ran away, but that they rebuked them for their lack of faith. Jesus emphasized to his disciples that faith in the resurrection is the true faith. Believing in the risen Lord is true faith.
