Title: He Is Risen (Matthew 28:1-10)
Contents The life of Jesus was truly tragic. It is wonderful that the Son of God was born in the lowest place in this world. He forsook the throne of heaven and the glory of his only begotten Son, and came down to every low place on this earth in human flesh. How low the geography is, even the seat of the manger. No one is born in a stable, no matter how poor people are today. This is the appearance of the Lord who came into this world.
You also received a lot. Although the Son of God was born on this earth, no one received him. There were so many people who wanted to kill me right after I was born, so I had to start living in escape. So Jesus lived in exile from an early age.
Also, the Lord lived a life of agony. It must have been a lifetime of only 30 years, but that life of only 30 years was a life of agony. It was an era under Roman oppression. In addition, Herod's tyranny was great. There was a time when I couldn't make a sound as much as I wanted to. It is a time when freedom is not available. It was time to spend his youth under the watch of Rome.
In such a world, the most difficult generation to live in is the young generation. Yulgok argued that young people should not know how to establish a position. In such a world, how can a nation under pressure be able to establish a position? Tomorrow is only uncertain. The Lord is born in that same world and spends his youthful days.
In addition, the Lord lived a shameful life. Jesus was born into a carpenter's family. As soon as he started evangelism after growing up, the first wall he encountered was a sarcastic dam that said, "Isn't that the carpenter's son?" There is a mixture of scorn and ridicule in these words. So, after saying one word, "A prophet is not welcomed in his hometown," he leaves his hometown.
In addition, persecution and condemnation from Judaism intensify. There is also non-cooperation and criticism from the brothers. In the end, they are humiliated in court. It is a disgrace for the Creator to be judged by the creatures. The Creator is whipped, spit upon, ridiculed and humiliated by the creature.
How about the way of the cross? The Lord was put to death on a crucifixion that killed only the most heinous and heinous sinners at that time. Even with all the false accusations covered.
That's not all. He led a utterly poor life. You were born in a stable. People said that the Son of God was born, so they thought that he must have been born in the royal palace and went to the royal palace. However, he was born in a stable, not in a rented room, and wrapped in swaddling cloths, not a soft blanket. And he lived his whole life without a house. He lived as a representative of those who were not enough to be thorough.
And even his death was tragic. It is said that the greatest blessing in life is Go Jong-myung. Jesus died at the young age of 33, not Ko Jong-myung. The painters painted a long beard on Jesus' portrait, but in fact he was 33 years old. It is the age at which your face will shine like the sun rising in the morning. And death was complicated. He died using the envy and envy of all people and the accusations of sinners. In front of his parents and brothers, he suffered to the point of excruciating pain. He hung on the cross for six hours. It is said that if you were a normal person, you would faint and die of shock as soon as you hung on it, but the Lord endured all the pain and suffering for 6 hours and died.
This is the life of the Lord. A very utter loser. He died with all the negative things in this world. So whenever we look at the cross, we are just sorry, ashamed, and speechless.
But Jesus came to life and resurrected. People thought he was dead and that's it, but Jesus is alive again. When people were reassured that everything was over because people rolled stones and blocked the door of the tomb, that Jesus came to life and is resurrected.
“He is not here, but has risen, just as he said.”
How refreshing is this? What a great providence of God. This is the resurrection of Jesus, this is the gospel of Christianity, and this is God's mysterious providence.
Pilate was perhaps the most astonished to hear that Jesus was resurrected. And they will be priests and scribes. It must have been the soldiers who crucified him and killed him. But, who were the other people who clenched their fists and sang a song full of joy at that time when they were trembling in confusion? How could it have been one or two people? We learn some important lessons from this resurrection of Jesus.
The first is the lesson that truth always triumphs.
The truth always triumphs in any time and any place. No matter how the powers of the world or any force try to trample it or cover it, the truth must arise. The resurrection of Jesus proves this. To kill Jesus, he tried all means and methods to kill him, but he was resurrected.
So Luther cried out. "The Lord Jesus Christ is the Lord of hosts; whoever is worthy will surely overcome."
The second is the lesson that the truth must be revealed.
People thought that it would be enough to throw Jesus into the tomb and close the stone door. So the tomb was sealed and the soldiers guarded it. But who stops what God is doing? How can people stop what God is doing? Is it protected by people protecting it? No matter how hard people try to hide the truth, God does not let it go. So all the injustices that were done in the dark will come off with time.
It's really scary. The truth will always come out. The Lord proved this through the resurrection. So we must learn to fear history. There is no way to stop and there is no way to avoid the judgment of history. Because God's providence is contained in it.
The third lesson is that you must die to live.
There can be no resurrection without death. So Christianity is a dying religion. Death is certainly sad. So where there is death, there must be tears. And in the face of death, everyone forgets what to say and becomes sober and depressed.
And death is an abomination. So, no matter how much you love your child, no one wants to see your dead face forever. Rather, it gets worse the more you look at it. That's why people light incense in places where death is, and decorate the coffin with flowers to beautify it. This is because of the desire to neutralize the ugly even a little.
And death is another thing to fear. When the angel of death approaches the door, no one is happy to run out to meet you. No one enjoys the feeling that death is slowly approaching. That's why people hate the "4" character. No congratulations at funerals. They don't even try to talk about dying when talking about pleasant topics. And no one goes on a picnic to the cemetery. All the meaning of death is because it doesn't make you feel good.
However, after the gospel that the Lord died and rose again came to this earth, our understanding of death has completely changed. When the Lord was raised to life, the meaning and meaning changed tremendously. Death is no longer the end. It's not scary either. It's not cursed either. I learned that death is just a movement of place for a moment. That is why we dared to say a prayer of thanks in front of the dead. And I was able to sing a song saying "Glory be glory be glory".
How great is this change? The Lord's Resurrection has provided us with this same experience and change. This is the meaning, meaning, and blessing that the resurrection gave the world.
Fourth, the resurrection of Jesus gave us great hope.
Imagine that a person's life on this earth is completely over in 7 or 80 years. If that were the case, the most unfortunate of all creatures on this earth would be humans. Among trees, there is a ginkgo tree that is said to live for a thousand years. Among animals, there are turtles and cranes that are said to live several hundred years.
However, the Lord has provided us with a decisive opportunity for Soma. That is the resurrection. “I am the resurrecting life; whoever believes in me, even if he dies, will live, and whoever lives and believes in me will never die” (John 11:25). “(Luke 24:6) He is not here, but is risen.” “(1 Corinthians 15:52) When the trumpet sounds, the dead will live in immortality, and we will also be changed.” These are the promises of blessing through the resurrection.
After suffering there is joy. After the rain there is sunshine. And after death there is resurrection. This is the gospel. The resurrection of the Lord has given the world hope, joy, and hope.
