Contents

He is risen (April 20 Easter Sunday)

Matthew 28:1-20

Introduction

Today is the day that Jesus Christ died, bearing our sins, overcame the power of death, opened the grave, and rose again.

This morning I would like to talk about the resurrection of Jesus.

Main subject

1. He was resurrected on the first day after the Sabbath (Sunday)

1) The Sabbath in the Old Testament was Saturday and was the anniversary of God's creation.

2) The Sabbath in the New Testament era is Sunday (Sunday) and it is the anniversary of the new creation of Jesus.

Therefore, it is right to worship on Sunday in the New Testament era, and Sunday is God's day and holy day just like the Sabbath in the Old Testament era.

2. The first to witness the resurrection of Jesus were women.

1) Mary Magdalene, another Mary, Joanna, and other women (Luke 24:10) came to see the tomb and met the resurrected Jesus.

2) These women witnessed a great earthquake, and an angel came down from heaven and rolled the stone away from the entrance of the tomb, and sat on the stone in a form like lightning and dressed in snow-white clothes.

3) Those who guarded the tombs were afraid and trembling and became like dead people.

4) The angel said to the women, "Do not be afraid, I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here, but has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay. Go quickly and go to his disciples. Say to him, "He has risen from the dead, and he is going before you into Galilee, and there you will see him." Behold, I have told you."

5) The women quickly left the tomb with fear and great joy, ran to tell the disciples, and heard Jesus' words.

He said, "Peace, do not be afraid. Go and tell my brothers, go to Galilee, and there you will see me."

It was women who watched the death of Jesus until the end, women were the first to see the open tomb, and Jesus was the first to witness the resurrected Jesus.

Because they loved Jesus more than anyone else.

3. Some of the watchmen informed the public about the resurrection of Jesus.

1) Some of the watchmen entered the city and informed the chief priests about the process of Jesus' resurrection.

2) The chief priests consulted with the elders and gave the soldiers a lot of money to make them lie

"You say that his disciples came by night and stole the body of Jesus while we were sleeping. If these words are heard by the governor, we will persuade you so that you will not be troubled."

3) The soldiers received money and lied to the members of the council.

But the lie could not cover up the resurrection of Jesus.

Even today, any lie will always be heard.

4. There were some disciples who doubted the resurrection of Jesus.

1) When the resurrected Jesus went to Galilee and met his disciples on the mountain, most of them worshiped him, but there were some disciples who were suspicious.

Angels, women, and soldiers guarding the tomb saw the resurrection of Jesus and reported it, but the foolish disciple was suspicious.

Even the members of the council acknowledged the resurrection of Jesus, so they paid a lot of money to silence the soldiers and spread false rumors.

No matter how much the world believes in the resurrection of Jesus, the resurrection of Jesus is a fact.

5. The resurrected Jesus gave the disciples the Great Commission. (18-20)

All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me

1) Go and make disciples of all nations (evangelism mission)

2) Baptize them in the name of the third person of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. (Instill the assurance of salvation)

3) Teach them to obey everything I have commanded (Educate them to grow spiritually)

He said, "I will always be with you, even to the end of the world."

Jesus promised the reward that He would always be with the evangelist until the end of the world.

conclusion

1. Jesus came for us, lived for us, suffered for us, died for us, and rose for us.

2. We must first experience the risen Lord often and confidently and preach the risen Lord with confidence.

3. I pray that you will live a life where the Lord is always with you by powerfully preaching the Lord of resurrection until the end of the world.
