Old Testament
1. Ahab told Jezebel all that Elijah had done and how he killed all the prophets with the sword.
2. Jezebel sent an envoy to Elijah, saying, “Tomorrow at this time, I will surely make your life the same as the life of one of them, otherwise the gods deserve punishment upon me.
3. When he saw this situation, he got up and fled for his life, and came to Beersheba, which belongs to Judah, and left his servant there.
4. He himself went into the wilderness and went about a day's journey, and sat down under a broom tree, wishing that he might die, saying, "It is enough, O LORD; take away my life now, for I am no better than my fathers."
5. As he slept under the rosemary, an angel touched him and said to him, "Get up and eat."
6. And behold, there was a loaf of charcoal-grilled bread and a bottle of water on the bedside;
7. The angel of the LORD came again, and touched him, saying, "Get up and eat, lest you go all the way."
8. Then he got up and ate and drank, and by the strength of the food he traveled forty days and forty nights to Horeb, the mountain of God. On this day we will rejoice and rejoice.
new testament
31. Therefore Jesus said to the Jews who believed in him, If you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples.
32. You will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.
33. And they answered, We are Abraham's children, and we have never been slaves; why do you say that we will be free?
34. Jesus answered, “Truly, truly, I say to you, everyone who commits sin is a slave to sin.
35. A slave does not remain in the house forever, but the son abides forever.
36. Therefore, if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.

Depression, which used to be thought of as a cold of the heart, is now regarded as an important symptom of modern people's mental health. To varying degrees, we also find people who are struggling with depression, either ourselves or in those around us. Elijah also suffered from depression. After a great victory over the prophets of Baal and Asherah as a great servant of God, he suddenly fell into a deep depression. Why did Elijah fall into depression, and how did God treat him?
1. Emotions come from thoughts. When Elijah heard Jezebel's threats, he thought things would go wrong. The thought created a feeling of fear, and in fear Elijah fled across the wilderness.
Romans 12:2 “Only by renewing your mind” If you think positively, nothing will happen, if you think with a negative mind, you will be offended. God listens to whatever we feel in our hearts.
2. Don't compare yourself to others. Verse 4: “It is enough, O LORD; take away my life now. I am no better than my fathers.” We often think of ourselves as inferior because we do not have the good in others. But even the one I envy doesn't think about the fact that he has weaknesses that don't have the good points of others. You can never be happy by comparing yourself to others. God makes us unique and beautiful
You make it and love it
3. Don't exaggerate the negative. Verse 10 “I am the only one left” It is true that Elijah was a remnant of God's servants, but he was not the only one left. God left the seven thousand who did not bow the knee to Baal. We tend to enjoy a self-pity feast by exaggerating the negative. There is a difference between failing once and being a failure. God puts us in the presence of a transcendent God
