Title: Healing Blind Bartimaeus

Bible: Mark 10:46-52

2006. 12.3. afternoon

1. The blind man's identity

Beggars sitting on the side of the road.--At the time, people with disabilities were usually used as beggars.

A person who lives by begging--a miserable life that always clings to a hungry stomach.

When we are under Satan, we live in such a miserable state.

2. Disabled blind man

We too are spiritually disabled. Those who have eyes but cannot see, have ears but cannot hear

<Isaiah 6:9> "Go and say to this people, saith the LORD, You will hear, but you will not understand; you will see, but you will not understand."

<Matthew 15:14> “Leave them alone, for they have become blind, and they are leading the blind. If the blind lead the blind, both will fall into a pit.” Jesus' rebuke to the Pharisees.

Let us not become spiritual hymns.

3. The Faith of Badimeo

Bartimaeus had the faith to stop Jesus passing by.

The order of salvation is as follows.

We must hear the preaching-hearing-belief-supplication-salvation. And you have to believe it. If you believe, ask

<Romans 10:1315> To be sent is to receive-preach-hear-believe-call-save. Therefore, praise the beauty of the feet of the evangelist.

4. Bartimaeus's supplication

Hearing that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he changed his title.--Jesus, Son of David!

Jesus of Nazareth was a name that many people were ashamed of. But this blind man falsely believed that Jesus was the Messiah, the son of David whom we had been waiting for. And the descendants of David are praying to this Messiah.

We too must confess that the only one who can save us is the Messiah, the son of David.

Son of David--(Isaiah 11:1, 10. Jeremiah 23:5-6; Ezekiel 34:23-24). <Matthew 1:1>--Proof that he is the Messiah.

5. Throw away your outer garments

Outerwear - a coat during the day. The bed at night was the greatest wealth for the blind.

When the Lord called, the blind man boldly threw it away. Nothing is more important to us when the Lord goes forth. However, like the rich young man, if you have a lot of money, it is very difficult to come to Jesus. Because I can't give it up.

Let's get rid of my coat quickly! knowledge, wealth, pride, learning. beauty..............

6. Go, your faith has saved you.

It was only through faith that the blind was saved. “Your faith has saved you.”

Even the blind must open their eyes, but more importantly, their spiritual eyes are opened and they are saved. Through his faith, this Bartimaeus opened his blind eyes and received spiritual salvation. Let's live on a confession of faith like Bartimaeus so that I too can be saved in body and spirit too!!
