Title: Healing the Daughter of a Canaanite Woman

Bible: Matthew 15:21-28

2006. 8. 27. Afternoon

The praises from the Lord are the two protagonists of faith. One is the Canaanite woman in the text, and the other is the centurion recorded in Matthew 8.

1. The suffering of the Canaanite woman

- It's not your problem.

- The daughter is possessed by a ferocious demon.

We do not know what this woman did or did to cast the demon out of her daughter. Hospital/Prayer/Church/Home Prayer

It must be distinguished from the psychopath and the demon possessed.

- The woman cried out earnestly, 'Have mercy on me!'

Your daughter is terribly demon-possessed. exclaimed bitterly. A child's suffering is a great pain for a mother.

When we are at peace, there is no cry. no kneeling Health and prosperity are good, but even better are the adversities that lead us to the Lord.

Psalm 119:67,71 'It is good for me to be afflicted, that I may learn Your statutes.'

But the Lord was not against it.

Was it because she was a stranger? It was the Lord who spoke so kindly with the woman of Suga. Why didn't you respond? In fact, there are times when we cry and there is no response.

- The worshipers of Baal cried out from morning to evening, but there was no response.

- There is no answer to those who worship idols.

The idol-maker and the worshiper are all common.

But Jesus' unresponsiveness was not due to lack of power. It was to test his faith and, on the other hand, to increase his faith.

2. The Persevering Woman

Despite the woman's plea, the disciples did not respond to Jesus' request.

'Let her go because she is screaming behind us.' It means to annoy you. I don't mean to just let her go. If it was just the amount to be sent, the disciples would have been good at it. Therefore, it means to grant her wish and send her home in peace.

The Lord's response was surprisingly cold.

'I am not sent anywhere but the lost sheep of the house of Israel.'

The Lord, who was initially unresponsive, now speaks contemptuous words. He is the one who said to the adulterous woman, 'Neither do I condemn you.' But why are you so cold-hearted? How would we react if we encountered this situation from the Lord?

This is a test of faith. What can you do more than weigh your faith?

3. The triumph of faith

After hearing this, the woman fell on her face and begged the Lord. 'Lord, help me.'

But when Jesus heard this, he said, 'It is not right to take the children's bread and throw it to the dogs.' Dog means Kunaria, or pet dog. What Jesus said is that even dogs are loved by their owners. However, it means that the owner's children must benefit first. It means that there is an order to the benefits of love. In our proverb, cold water has an order. Drinking cold water has an order, let alone ..... meaning.

The woman still pleaded with the Lord. “It is good, Lord, but even the dogs eat the crumbs that fall from their master’s table.” In other words, it is okay if it is not the grace you give me to the master's son. Like a dog, I can just give you the crumbs favor. It means “Give me the crumbs of grace!!!”

There are three reasons why this woman was able to plead with the Lord in this way, regardless of the Lord's scornful words.

1) Faith--His great faith in the Lord

2) Love--It is the heart of love that loves children and daughters.

3) Humility--This is the attitude of this woman who bows before Jesus.

That's right. A great faith will stand even if you throw a mountain into the sea. So we receive the blessings of heaven on earth.

Love melts even the hearts of enemies. Only love receives grace from God. So, the first sign of those who have received grace is love. Those who do not love are those who have not yet experienced God's grace.

And humility is a wonderful condition of God's grace. “He opposes the proud, but shows kindness to the humble.”

4. A miracle appears.

The Lord is moved by this woman's attitude. Look at the three attitudes of Jesus so far.

1) There was no answer. - No response.

2) I was not sent anywhere but the lost sheep of the house of Israel.

3) It is not right to take the children's bread and throw it to the dogs.

These are all words that hurt my heart deeply. But now look at the last words of the Lord.

“Woman, great is your faith. It will be as you wish.” O!. woman great is your faith! In other words, the Lord is admiring this woman.

Dear saints, Impress the Lord. Even if the Lord is silent, even if your prayers are not answered, even if life becomes more difficult, even if business fails repeatedly, draw closer to the Lord. And beg for flakes of grace. Then, in the end, the Lord will turn to you! Oh! My dear butler Kim. you are making me tickle! May it be as you wish. Finally, an amazing miracle will appear. I wish you victory with great faith.
