Title: Healthy Family (Psalm 128:1-6)
Contents May is the month of the family, and in our country, the church, and at home, family problems are discussed. The family system was created by God. The home must be sacred. "A home is a place to store happiness, not a place to mine it. A family built to gain will fall, and only a family built to give is a happy family." Many social problems are occurring due to the breakdown of families due to abandonment, parents throwing away, and the rapid increase in the divorce rate (in Korea, one in seven couples divorces).
1) Exemplary Jesus’ Assumption
Adam's home, the first family, was destroyed by Satan's temptation. Cain, the first murderer, is also his son. Jesus gave the family to restore this family. When he gave birth to Jesus Christ through Mary, who was betrothed to a man named Joseph, he went through a mysterious process.
Joseph spoke the word as a righteous man (Matthew 1:19), and he obeyed after knowing that Mary was also conceived under the direction of an angel. He went up to the temple to perform rites by faith, taught according to the law, and learned the prophets. He considered labor sacred and did carpentry work. Jesus' family is a clean family of faith, love, learning the Word, love of work, morality and ethics.
2) The secret to a healthy family
The secret to a healthy family is to have a good spiritual side first. The text says, "Blessed is everyone who fears the Lord and walks in his ways." In the Hebrew language, the word of reverence is called “kybeth,” which also refers to the middle of the human intestine. It has such an important meaning.
Deuteronomy 28:1-follows the secret to being blessed. It is said that if you obey the Word, you will excel among children, occupations, and peoples of the world. When the Lord builds a house, he says it is healthy (Psalm 127:1). In Matthew 19:6-ff, a rich young man asked Jesus what he must do to inherit eternal life. At this time, give what you have to the poor, and follow me, and you will have treasure in heaven. The rich young man denied the spiritual aspect as a slave to wealth. Cornelius's family was a happy family with good faith.
3) The result of a healthy family life
In Text 2 - "You shall eat according to the toil of your hands." God must give you health to work. Jesus said, “The Father is working until now, and I am working.” Jesus who loved work. Paul said that those who do not want to work should not eat.
In Proverbs 31:1 and below, we see a happy family life. King Lemuel's mother spoke to her son about a virtuous woman. It is said that a family is blessed when one loves labor, takes care of family affairs, raises children well, increases wealth, puts effort into raising her husband, and builds up virtue and receives praise. away from God
He said that a happy family is like an olive tree for children, a wife like a fruitful vine, and the lifelong blessing of Jerusalem. "Blessed are those who fear the Lord." Let's be happy in the life of the Word in each family.
