During the last week of March, during a worldwide Christian Holy Week, 39 pseudo-Christians committed suicide by poisoning themselves in Rancho Santa Fe, just above San Diego in southern California. A few days earlier, on Saturday, March 23, the day before Palm Sunday, five people committed suicide by self-immolation in Saint Kashmir, Canada. It is not yet known how these two groups are related, but one is Heaven's Gate adherents and the other is Solar Temple adherents. On October 5, 1994, 48 members of the Temple of the Sun committed suicide in Grande sur Salvan and Serie, Switzerland, some by self-immolation and others by firearms. He committed mass suicide with self-immolation and firearms. If you look at their religious background, Christianity is the dominant religion, Asian mysticism, Gnosticism, and the X-Files.
On the morning of March 9, when the total solar eclipse occurred, the biggest space show of the century took place on Earth. In Mongolia, Siberia and northern China, the long-tailed comet Hale Bob appeared at the same time as the sky suddenly darkened. The mass suicide of the members of Heaven's Gate and the Temple of the Sun occurred around March 22-23, when the comet came closest to Earth.
In particular, Heaven's Gate followers were expecting an unidentified flying object to take them behind Comet Hale Bob. They believed that the human body was nothing more than a container that temporarily encloses and transports the soul. It is said that the end of the earth is coming, and the planet called Earth will return to its primordial chaotic state before creation and begin to 'recycle' from there again, and it has been said that the only way to survive here is to leave this earth with them. The members of the Sun Temple who committed suicide in Canada have the hope and belief that they will ascend to the star Sirius in the Canis Major constellation, which is 9 light-years away from Quebec, Canada, and live in eternal dominion over creation.
The sky has been attracting human attention since early times. Therefore, in Christianity, 'the kingdom of God', which is the core of Jesus' message, is also called 'the kingdom of heaven'. The kingdom of God, the kingdom of heaven, is also our ultimate hope.
When I was a child, I went to church and sang along to what adults sang without knowing what it meant. There was a hymn called 'Konchanko Longevity in Heaven' that is now gone. It was really long after I realized that these lyrics mean that if you go to heaven, you will not get tired and you will live long and not grow old.
In the sky, Gonchanko to the Buddha of longevity, by the spirit of the body, to the Buddha of longevity,
The burden of the world is painfully heavy
