Heavenly Citizen's Lifestyle ② (Romans 12:14-21)
I. Bless those who persecute (14)
“Bless those who persecute you, bless and do not curse”
① Pray for those who persecute (Matthew 5:44)
② You must comfort yourself with a sincere heart. (Genesis 50:19~21)
③ Do not curse the persecutors.
First, do not curse with words.
Second, we must not curse even with our hearts.
“Rejoice with those who rejoice, weep with those who weep”
This means being involved in and sympathizing with the other person's point of view and always thinking from the other side's point of view. Even when I am in sorrow, if I meet someone who is happy, I will rejoice with him, and even when I am happy, if I meet someone who is in sorrow, I will grieve with him. Living like this is a wise way to live.
① Participate in the joy of others (Phase 15)
Those who are loved by God can share in the joy of others with the love of the Lord. John 13:34, “I give you a new commandment, that you love one another, as I have loved you.” Therefore, joy comes from the love of God, and Paul exhorts us to continue to live in salvation and share in the joy of Christ (1 Thessalonians 5:16).
② Participate in other people's sorrows (15th)
It tells us that believers who have the Lord's love should share the pain and sorrow of others. It is only when we have the love of the Lord that we can weep with those who weep. Sharing pain and sorrow is an act of practicing the love of Christ. Sympathy for the situation of others, that is, to share feelings and circumstances with conditions, is possible through the love of the Lord (Luke 10:27) and only by being guided by the Holy Spirit (Galatians 5:16) (Philippians 2:2) .
The fellowship and fellowship of the saints are important. However, this does not mean that only believers should be at peace. As those who have eternal life, we believers should form friendship with unbelievers within the scope of not damaging our faith. I must be strong in my faith and maintain close friendships to lead them to the Lord. It is heartbreaking to see their souls go to hell because their souls cannot be saved, so let's join them in their joys and sorrows and lead them to God. We must love not only others, but also the lives of our enemies with a sincere heart. To value and love the life itself of a person is to love the creator of that life and to imitate Christ.
To rejoice with those who rejoice and weep with those who weep is to understand and sympathize with the other. This is indeed a difficult task. But looking at the life of Jesus, Jesus did not seek his own benefit. Seeking only one's own interests is the core of selfishness, and Jesus sought the interests of others while being patient with those who slandered him. Jesus took on a human body and came into this world to sympathize with human weakness. Hebrews 4:15 says, “We do not have a high priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who has been tempted in every respect as we are, yet without sin.”
“Compassion” means acting on the situation of others as your own. I will become like others except for their sins. We should deeply understand and sympathize with the circumstances of others. When we empty ourselves as the words of Philippians 2:5-11 say, when we have the heart of Christ Jesus, we will serve Jesus as our master not only with our words but also with our actions. will live Selfishness can be overcome if you want to imitate Jesus, thinking that he humbled himself and took on flesh and became a man. Not only overcome selfishness, but also seek the benefit of others (1 Corinthians 10:24), live for Christ (Philippians 1:21,22), and practice love (Luke 6:35). To do that we
First, you must know God and have deep fellowship with God,
Second, you must have a deep relationship with people.
This is done because I know their situation and bear their burdens.
Saints! In order to become one in the Lord, let's stand in the position of others, understand them, and live a life of participation. This is the wise way of dealing. We pray in the name of the Lord that we accept the circumstances of others as our own, rejoice with those who rejoice and sympathize with them with the love of the Lord, and cry with those who weep to accomplish God's will.
