Title: Heavenly Citizen's Lifestyle (2 Timothy 01:1-14)
Contents 1) We became saints, citizens of heaven, by the will of God. In order to make us citizens of heaven, God delivered the gospel to me through the 12 disciples of Jesus Christ, the apostles and the evangelists.
2) How should we live who have received this gospel?
I. Citizens of heaven have a duty to preach the gospel (v. 11).
A. In order to spread the gospel, we first need the assurance of salvation.
1. If you ask the saints, you will find that many people are not sure or confident about their salvation.
2. Those who have accepted Jesus Christ should know that they have already become citizens of the kingdom of heaven.
3. The God who saved us has also given us the ability to work for the gospel.
B. Those who have confidence in salvation must preach the gospel.
1. It is not God's will to remain at the beginning of the Way as in Hebrews 5:12.
2. All believers must know that they have the mission of an evangelist.
You have to learn what to convey.
You must be willing to sacrifice yourself for the glory of God.
II. Heavenly citizens are obliged to suffer for the sake of the gospel (v. 12).
A. Preaching the gospel is not an easy task.
1. In some cases, there may be success in receiving the evangelism as it is.
2. In some cases, they may face severe persecution.
3. Many evangelists, including Paul, were in charge of this work.
B. Believers should never be afraid of the world's persecution.
1. To get fruit, you must sow, and those who sow with weeping will reap with joy.
2. The world's persecution of us can be the proof that we are saved.
3. Persecution against us is evidence of their destruction. They will be judged.
4. Therefore, believers should not be discouraged by being conscious of people, but boldly preach the gospel of Christ.
III. Heavenly citizens have the duty to keep the gospel (verses 12-14).
A. The gospel is a privilege entrusted to the saints.
1. The gospel entrusted to us is the gospel of right words (verse 13).
A sound word is a healthy word, which is a Greek expression used in the Gospels when Jesus healed people.
In other words, the gospel of Jesus Christ is the right teaching made up of right words.
2. The gospel is a beautiful, noble and noble treasure entrusted to the Church to keep it safe.
3. All around us are heretics who want to usurp the precious treasures entrusted to the church.
B. We must know that we have a duty to keep the gospel.
1. The word Filasso means to keep something from being lost or damaged.
2. Just as active defense is an attack, the best way to keep the gospel is to preach the gospel diligently.
1) Our citizenship is not bought with money. It was only the grace of God.
2) Works are not conditions for salvation. But saved believers know what grace is.
3) There are many people in the world, but not many people in the church. Therefore, we must be good servants of the Lord who work diligently for the gospel.
