Title: Heavenly Scholar (2 Peter 01:5-11)

Content We have already come to know Jesus Christ and God the Father through faith and have obtained eternal life. I was blessed to share the life of God. They have become children of God, and they have become the people of Heaven who possessed citizenship in Heaven, not just strangers who have seen or talked to Heaven for a while. However, in order to enjoy these blessings of becoming children while living on earth and to live a fruitful life as a child of God, we must not just say, "I believe!"

Faith must supply virtue upon its foundation, and it must supply knowledge, temperance, patience, godliness, brotherly kindness, and love. What kind of result this will bring? In verses 8-11 of the text, there are three results that will come when we continue to diligently supply the seven virtues on faith.

1. The spiritual life is enriched (v. 8).

The spiritual knowledge of knowing the Lord will increase and spiritual fruit will be abundant.

The trees that grow in the desert are usually withered and short. It rains even in the desert. However, because rainwater quickly seeps into the ground, the trees cannot get enough water, so they do not grow tall and produce abundant fruit. However, a tree growing by a stream that does not dry out all year round is always fresh and bears fruit according to the season, and its leaves are green. When winter passes and spring comes, the first tree planted by the stream sprouts and flowers. Likewise, those who believe in Jesus but do not distance themselves from the Lord and just lead a formal life of faith are like a bush in the desert. So, just like it rains in the desert once or twice a year, I forcibly attend a revival meeting or an all-night prayer meeting to receive some grace, but it quickly dries up. So how can that spirit be enriched! On the other hand, when we draw near to the Lord, accumulate knowledge of the Bible, persevere, be temperate, strive to please the Lord, and strive to love one another, such believers receive and drink the living water of the Holy Spirit every day. Take it every week and drink it. Therefore, the soul is always blue and there is divine joy inside.

I have an older daughter in my family, who is very religious, has a good heart, and has a nice personality. However, the bachelor is active in following one. He thinks that this house is a house of faith, and he says he is a believer with all his heart, and he seems to be very zealous. That's kind of what I'm worried about. Because the bachelor's enthusiasm seems to be great, but there is no joy or relaxation in his heart or face. It's that he's hardworking and his face is too dark. Those who truly believe in Jesus and those who draw near to the Lord have peace and joy in their hearts. So, the elders of the family said that they wanted to meet the bachelor and discuss their faith and find out if it was the right faith. Artificial zeal, zeal without Jesus, is hot and soon withers away. True zeal has the joy of faith because the Lord is with you. There is a light of joy on his face.

Proverbs 6:9-11, "Lazy one! How long will you lie down? When will you wake up? Let's sleep a little longer. Let's sleep a little longer. Let's put our hands together and lie down a little longer, and your poverty will come like a thief, and your need will become a military force I will come together." This also applies to spiritual principles. I also receive faith freely and go to heaven by faith alone, so there is nothing I can do! If you slander in this way, you will become completely spiritually poor. Everyone who comes to the service for the first part, it is probably because you are busy on a Sunday and things are not going well, so you come to worship early. I can't praise it for being great, but it's still unique. How annoying it is to rush up to church early in the morning on a winter day these days. Even if it's the 1st worship service, it's only for a month. Whether I believe in Jesus or not, my faith is completely ruined. That's why Romans 12:11 says, "Do not be lazy in diligence, but be zealous and serve the Lord."

Saints! Let us not be lazy in believing in Jesus. If we work as hard as we do to earn a living, there is no one who will not receive grace, and I know that there is no one who will not be blessed by God.

2. That faith is strengthened (verse 10).

A little while ago, the life of faith was compared to a tree, and it is the same here. Yesterday, my grandmother in the southern region passed away and had a funeral, and her body was buried in the cemetery in Dong-dong, Sangok. As I climbed the mountain, I saw trees that had been uprooted and fell down. These are the ones that fell in the typhoon last summer. So as they came down, the young men took it and set it on fire. But when I went to the burial place, one of the priests praised me saying, "Hey, that tree is truly a national treasure!" Several members of the congregation around me said, "That's right!" and praised them. A nearby stagnant pine tree was providing cool shade to the nearby cemeteries. It was so compared to that national treasure tree and the trees that were uprooted and lying here and there.

Everyone! Even in our religious life, there are times when typhoons of temptation and trials and storms and winds blow.

At that time, those with weak faith, such as children, fall into sin, fall into temptation, and are shaken by temptation. have. But the saints who added virtue to faith, knowledge to virtue, and provided self-control, temperance, perseverance, perseverance, godliness, godliness, brotherly kindness, and brotherly kindness, love. You will never stumble even if you come. The text says, "I will never stumble."

? tree with deep roots is not shaken by the wind, a water with a deep spring does not dry up in a drought, and flowers are beautiful and bear many fruits.??did.

I hope that your faith will grow as mature as a tree with deep roots and a strong tree.

3. Enter the kingdom of heaven as a scholarship student (verse 11).

Today, I continued speaking by comparing the teaching of this verse to a tree. At first it is the state of the tree. This tree is fresh and beautiful. Second, I spoke about the solidity of this tree. Third, it is the fruit of this tree. When I was in middle school, I had a vineyard orchard with my mother-in-law, and I often go there because I live in the neighborhood. When the fruits are picked in summer, they are sorted and placed in boxes. There are Grade 1, Grade 2, and some that cannot be sold and discarded. Grade 1 fruits are the most pleasing to the owner. So they are sold at the highest price and go to the city.

When we go to heaven in the future, there are grades. In Matthew 3:12, Jesus said that in the future Jesus will gather the wheat and bring it into the barn, and the chaff will be burned with unquenchable fire. There are porridges to be burned, and there are grains, and there are those that are neither wheat nor porridge, and there are those that are not ripe or black. I hope that all the saints will be recognized as the Algok saints when they enter the kingdom of heaven. Matthew 13:47,48 says, "The kingdom of heaven is like a fisherman's method of catching fish with a net; he brings the fish that are full in the net to the water and sits down, putting the good in a bowl and throwing away the bad. Throw away bad things like killifish and mandarin fish. But some meat will be placed on the king's table It is the same when we enter heaven.

There are those who fail the exam when they enter the university, some who barely get in, and others who enter as a scholarship student with the honor of passing the top. I'm sorry, but I recently became a first-class scholarship student at a graduate school and received a scholarship certificate. In other words, it will be gloriously entering heaven like a scholarship student. There is a passage in the Bible that deals with this issue in some detail.

Another saint next to it is built with straw very easily. We do not carry heavy burdens after obtaining the name of the church. Still, they have faith and pray before God when they encounter an emergency. On the other side, Mr. Park builds a house made of gold, and he is faithful regardless of rain or snow. Even when busy, he is faithful to his duties as a choir, a Sunday School teacher, and the job entrusted to him. For the Lord's work, we do our best to give our offerings without compulsion. Loyal to the center. This man builds a house with gold. On the other side, butler Yoon builds a house a little unusual. Even in the midst of such hardship and hardship, I take the lead in doing the Lord's work. We have to pray every morning for the church and country with tears shed, without regard for even if others do not know or if there is persecution, and stay vigilant every week. We sacrifice our bodies, materials and tears to serve the Lord faithfully. A house of faith is built by adorning the shining diamond with the most precious jewel that shines.

But when everyone builds the house, God judges. Woah-ah! Fire blows with the wind. Red flames pass by and black smoke rises.

After that, I looked at the houses and saw two houses that had come and disappeared. The wooden house built by Butler Kim and the straw house built by a member of the church burned down. Only the foundation stone remained. These are people who have done nothing in the world for the Lord and only receive salvation through the merits of Jesus. The devil comes and makes fun of you. And these people say I'm going to take you to hell. Then it's not the Lord, but these people believed in me, and they have my name on their foreheads, and my blood on their chests. Beloved little ones, come into Heaven. He does. I'm shy and I don't know where to stand. I'm very sorry So I shed tears. On the one hand, tears of gratitude, and on the other hand, tears of regret. I wish I could serve God better when I was in the world. I am so sorry to the Lord for not being faithful to the Lord once while worrying about the world. Tears are flowing.

However, even after the fire has passed, there are two houses that still remain. The house of Butler Park, built with gold, and the house of Butler Yoon, built with jewels. God is pleased, but all of a sudden, angels in heaven play musical instruments from heaven and sing in beautiful harmony.

"Good and faithful servants, after your toil on earth, you will receive your reward in heaven. Servants who are faithful to death! Come in! Glory Hallelujah!" But the gates of heaven opened and the Lord was waiting there with his arms wide open. On the golden glass road that leads to that place, angels line up on both sides, clapping and scattering hundreds of pollen. As I got closer to the Lord, the Lord ran up to me and hugged me and said, "How in the world you have suffered for me." and crowned him with a crown of pure gold. Hallelujah! It feels like flying in the sky. But tears keep coming. Tears of emotion. Lord, I have done nothing, it is all by Your grace. So take off your crown and give it to the Lord. Hallelujah!

<Conclusion>

Saints! How about the house of faith you are building, aren't you building your house out of straw or wood? I'm afraid my house will be like that. Let's all build a house of faith with gold or precious stones. How about your tree of faith? Let's fertilize and water the tree of faith so that it can grow strong and bear fruit. So, this year, there is a lot of progress in faith, and I hope that the Lord will come soon, so that you and I will go to heaven and receive amazing praise, glory, and honor as a reward.
