Eternal Hope (Hebrews 11:13-16)
1. Three Important Elements of the Christian Faith
The three important elements of Christian faith are faith, hope, and love.
First, faith is the most basic thing, and without faith, our life of faith cannot begin. Faith in Almighty God, the Word of God, faith in the covenant, and faith in Jesus Christ, the center of God's covenant, as the Lord God must not be missed. You must have certain faith in victory, faith in the Holy Spirit, faith in the guidance of the Holy Spirit, and faith in the God of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
Second, it is love. In the Bible, 'there are faith, hope, and love, and the greatest of these is love' - emphasizing love and calling our Christianity a religion of love. It is an important part of the Christian faith that we need to know God's great love, love between God and me, love between humans and people, and love between believers and saints.
Third, it is hope. It can be said that it is the element that enriches the Christian faith the most. By making it three-dimensional, we should have the hope of reaching the heavens, and have the hope of looking forward to the end of the world.
(1 Thessalonians 1:3) "Remembering without ceasing before our God and Father your work of faith, labor of love, and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ" - 'The work of faith': God because we have faith history takes place Through faith, the life of faith in the church becomes. 'Work of Love': Because there is love, we work hard, serve, and sacrifice. Also, the name of the Lord appears and the gospel appears. 'Patience of Hope': Because there is hope, we can endure everything.
2. Faith, hope, and love are like flowers on one stalk.
(Hebrews 11:1) "Faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen" - It refers to the relationship between faith and hope. We do not see the evidence of things we cannot see, but if we have faith, it appears as evidence. No matter how precious we are, if we do not have hope, our faith will not come true, and even if we have hope, if we do not have faith in Jesus Christ, it will not be uncertain or revealed as true blessings. Hope is very important to us, and to those who have hope, blessings arise as much as there is hope.
(Romans 5:5) "Hope does not put us to shame, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us." If we have true hope, we will never live a life of failure. There is no hope but our Lord Jesus Christ. If you leave your hope in God and go out, everything is in God.
3. Eternal hope and a wise life
Hope, by its very nature, is concerned with the future, and believers who believe in the eternal God have eternal hope. The eternal hope, the hope in Christ, is an eternal hope that is affordable, does not disappoint, and does not change. That is the hope we must hold on to. Our reality today is uncertain and difficult to hope for. We should not hope in a world that cannot be trusted, that is changing, that is disappointing, but that we should put our hope in the true and eternal. We must redirect our desires to the spiritual, the inner, and the spiritual.
(Hymns 539) What is our strong rock?
(Psalm 90) speaks of our existence.
(Luke 12:16-21) Even though everything was in God, he thought that his plan and will were going according to him. He was not interested in his own death and soul.
(Luke 16:19-31) In the rich man and Lazarus, the rich man had no choice but to go to hell because he had no plans and measures for his soul. When it comes to death, we are mistaken and misunderstood. No one knows our death. avoid death But you have to face death. We must prepare for the soul while we are on this earth. The most important thing to prepare and prepare is to believe in Jesus Christ and become a child of God and our souls to be saved. Being saved is the love of God, and we must live our lives in accordance with God's interest, plan, and will. This is the wise life.
(Luke 21:34) “Be careful with yourselves, or your hearts will be weighed down with debauchery, drunkenness, and the anxieties of life, and that day will come upon you unexpectedly like a trap.”
4. A life of eternal hope and blessing
The eternal hope is the Second Coming and coming to heaven. There are funny and absurd stories about the Second Coming, but the Second Coming is sure to happen. Jesus, who came to this earth and saved us, died on the cross, rose from the dead three days later, ascended to heaven, and is now at the right hand of God. He will surely come. The fact that there is a second coming, we have to wait for the second coming with tension. When you live in tension while always waiting for the Lord's return, you will find and see what your true hope is. Our life is a life in which God's blessings come when we live with true hope.
(Matthew 24:32-33) “Learn the parable of the fig tree: When its branches become tender and put forth leaves, you know that summer is near. In the same way, when you see all these things, you know that the Son of Man is near, even at the door. Allah" - You must know the coming of the Lord by looking at the phenomena occurring in this age, this generation, and know that it is imminent.
(Matthew 24:34-39) "Truly I tell you, all these things will be accomplished before this generation passes by...until the flood came and destroyed them all; It will be the same" - Many denied the flood and did not prepare. Except for Noah's 8 family, all mankind perished.
(Matthew 24:40-41) "At that time there will be two men in the field, one taken and one left; two women will be grinding their rod, one taken and the other left. " - Prepare the parts related to the Second Coming Lord.
(Matt 24:42-45) "Therefore, be on the lookout for what day your Lord will come... Who will become a faithful and wise servant, who will be a faithful and wise servant, to be in charge of his master's household, and to distribute food in due season" - the Lord As we wait for His coming and wait faithfully according to the gifts, abilities, offices, and missions given to us, the Lord will come, and we have the blessing of receiving His praise and His reward. Even if the Lord does not return while we are alive, we who are saved will come to the Lord's kingdom, Heaven. You must have hope for this heaven. We must live while looking forward to the eternal hope, that is, the glory we will enjoy when we go to heaven.
(Rev 7:16-17) "Therefore they were before the throne of God, and they served God day and night in his temple; and he who sat on the throne will tent over them, and they will neither hunger again nor thirst again, neither by the sun nor by any heat. shall not be wounded, for the Lamb in the midst of the throne will be their shepherd and lead them to springs of water of life, and God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.” We live in this world, in this world we live in disappointment. The world that will appear in the future is a beautiful and glorious world that you cannot imagine.
(Rev 21:1-5) (Rev 22:4-5) - We are lacking, weak, and conflicted in this world, but a namely and good world awaits us, and we must live in hope for this world.
(Rev 22:20) "He who testified of these said, Truly I am coming quickly. Amen, come, Lord Jesus." - This should be the answer you and I should answer. While waiting for the Lord, I have to live my life to the fullest today.
5. Text: Have eternal hope.
In today's text, Hebrews 11, Abraham received God's precious calling and precious promises, and at the age of 75 he emigrated as God wanted. They suffered a lot, wandered, and had no land to set foot on. He was able to return to his land again when he was strong enough. Looking back (Hebrews 11:15), it was not at all impossible. But (Hebrews 11:16) "Now they long for a better home."
