Title: Fear the Three
Bible / Hebrews 12:14-17
In November 1985, Colombia's Nevado del Luis volcano erupted, and more than 21,000 people lost their lives in a torrent mixed with volcanic mud and coarse gravel. At that time, the majority of people did not take the threat seriously until quite late, and the casualties were great. At the time, a newspaper reported that "people did not want to evacuate even though the ash fell and the water rose to their ankles." It was a great disaster because they ignored fearful things. 30829x
It is said that there are at least two things to fear in life (G ede), one is to be seized with fear, and the other is to become so proud that you do not know what you are afraid of.
In the Bible, there is a person who is not afraid of what should be feared and suffered a great disaster. Son-in-law of Lot and two sons of Eli.
The word “fear” in the text has a meaning. In other words, it is to fear three things while living your life of faith. I pray that you will receive the grace to realize this time.
1. We must be afraid that we will not reach the grace of God (15)
To fail to reach grace means .
While we are living our life of faith, things that threaten our lives are constantly happening. Among them, there is a risk that we will not be able to reach grace. Believers should not always miss the opportunity. Just as there are not always opportunities in life, we must not miss the opportunity to receive God's grace. On the day of salvation, I want you to work hard on receiving grace above all else.
In Christianity, the believer is a racer of faith, so this grace is indispensable. Grace is important to the saints. The right life of faith is possible only by the grace of God. Therefore, failing to reach grace is truly something to be feared.
If grace falls on the saints, human nature will emerge, and if faith is corrupted, life will be shipwrecked. May the deer long for the Lord as a thirsty deer longs for streams of water. God is the One who satisfies the longing soul and fills the hungry soul with good things. Above all else, you must believe that grace is drying up and your heart is sick.
Running out of money, getting sick, and being ridiculed by people are scary things, but what you really need to fear is that grace is withered and prayers are blocked. You need to know that there is no joy and that shunning the Word is really scary.
Matthew 10:28 "Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul, but fear him who can destroy both body and soul in hell."
Severance of grace is a serious danger in our religious life. Therefore, I pray that we will not fall into this danger and that we will become more diligent in receiving God's grace.
2. Be afraid of getting dirty (15th)
Verse 15 says, 'Fear that a root of bitterness will grow and cause trouble, and many will be defiled by it.' The root of bitterness means to be afraid of being defiled because of the same group as Deuteronomy 29:18 says, 'Because your heart may turn away from God and go to serve the gods of all the nations, roots of poison and wormwood have grown among you.'
We must beware of those who have a negative impact on society. In this day and age, few people often do great harm to many. When an inexperienced or reckless person drives, it kills and harms many people. In this way, in the church, people with inexperienced faith or with wrong beliefs make many people sick and discouraged. I should be afraid that I might fall into this sort of thing.
Other plants cannot grow around poisonous plants. Although it is not poisonous, it is difficult for other plants to live around plants with bitter roots.
1> Beware of the bitter root of your faith
2> Beware of the bitter roots of your home
3> Beware of the bitter roots of society
Our God is holy and holy. In addition, our saints are those who will participate in the wedding feast of the Lamb as the pure bride of Jesus Christ. Should these saints lose their innocence with all kinds of filth ahead of the wedding feast that is not far away? 2 Timothy 2:21 “If anyone cleanses himself from these things, he will become a vessel for honor, sanctified and suitable for the master’s use, prepared for every good work.”
There are many people around us with such bitter roots. They should be afraid that their faith will be polluted by them. Pray for discernment to do so. Let's have salvation and assurance. Let's stand right in the Word. Even if we do not receive great service or great blessings, we should not be rebuked by God by making others stumble by becoming a person with a negative faith, a person with a bad record, or a person who cannot build up virtue. I pray that you will always maintain holiness by having the eyes of faith to see the bitter root around you, participate in the wedding feast, and become a saint who is used worthy of God.
3. We must fear that there are ghosts (16)
Verse 16, “Fear the fornicators, and perhaps there are some who are vain, like Esau, who sold the birthright for a single meal”.
Proverbs 21:24 'He who is vain by the name of the rude and proud'
Esau was taken away because he neglected the God-given birthright (the birthright) and was grieved, but could not restore it.
It is said that (Esau) sold the birthright to (Jacob), but in fact, the birthright is not the nature of the transaction. (Esu)'s fault was that he was indifferent to 'What is the providence of God that made me the firstborn?' and 'What do I need the birthright for?' was considered insignificant.
Verse 15 tells us not to lose the , but the silver given to each of the saints is a gift given by God's grace. Therefore, it must be cherished.
I want to be afraid that I will neglect my mission and become a (wraith).
Jeremiah does not conform to the times and stubbornly carries out the mission of a prophet entrusted to him. As a result, persecution and persecution came physically and mentally, but he did not give in and carried out his mission.
Matthew 16:26 'For what profit does it profit a man if he gains the whole world and loses his own soul?' Do not neglect what God has given you. Cherish it. If you do not respect God's blessing, you will lose God's blessing and you will be abandoned by God. Do not sell your mission for temporary temptation. No, I always check to see if I am living such a life now, and I pray that I will become a saint who faithfully fulfills my mission.
Are you afraid to be afraid? Or have you ever been in trouble after ignoring it? Fear God rather than man. Fear the fall of faith more than material possessions, more fear of disobedience than pleasure. God is with people who are full of grace. Empowering the sanctified. Giving precious gifts and blessings to those who know what is precious and use it immediately Let's live a righteous life, knowing that God is always looking down on us with the eyes of a flame. Let's decide everything in prayer first. Let's live in obedience to God's word. So, I pray that we will always receive God's work and blessings and become true saints who are recognized and used by God and people in this age.
