Title: Heirs of God with Christ

Contents

You cannot become an heir unless you inherit the father's life, that is, the children born to the father. For this reason, the Bible testifies, “If children, then heirs, heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, for we must suffer with him in order that we may also be glorified with him” (Romans 8:17).

An heir is an inheritance. When the Bible says that you will inherit eternal life, it means that your children will inherit the kingdom of God. It is written, "I tell you the truth, Jesus said, When the world is renewed and the Son of Man sits on his glorious throne, you who follow me will also sit on twelve thrones judging the twelve tribes of Israel; and for my name's sake neither house nor brethren. Everyone who has left sisters or father or mother or children or lands will receive many times as much, and will inherit eternal life” (Matthew 19:28-29).

Whole life inherits whole life. Since the incorruptible seed is the whole life, the faithful grain inherits that incorruptible life. The heir of the seed is neither the sprout nor the ears, but the grain faithful to the grain.

For this reason the Lord Jesus, the heir of the eternal kingdom, said, “The kingdom of God is like a man sowing seed on the ground, and while he sleeps and wakes day and night, a seed sprouts and grows, and he does not know how it became. And then the ears of grain, and then the grain faithful to the ears” (Mark 4:26-28).

The Bible testifies of this with Abraham. In other words, Eliezer, Abram's servant, could not be an heir, nor could Ishmael, a mixed son and slave, be an heir. Only the son of Abraham's wife, a free woman, became an heir.

It is written, "Abram said, "Lord GOD, what will you give me? I am ruthless, and my heir is Eliezer of Damascus. And the word of the LORD came to him, saying, This man will not be your heir, but one who will come from your own body will be your heir...” (Genesis 15:2-4).

“Abraham said to God, “I want to live before Ishmael or God.” God said, “No, but Sarah your wife will bear you a son, and you shall call his name Isaac. I will make my covenant with him, an everlasting covenant with his descendants. It will be like this” (Genesis 17:18-19).

The heir of this life is the heir of eternal life, so even if we die, we live and never die. This is because they are heirs of faith. It is written, “Take your son, your only son, Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on the mountain as long as I will show you,” says the Lord (Genesis 22:2). He is the one who received the promise, but he gave his only begotten Son. He already said to him, 'Your offspring will be called through Isaac.' He thought that God was able to raise him from the dead. This is because he was an heir who fulfilled the testimony of the Lord Jesus Christ (Heb 11:17-19).

Therefore, it is written, "...heirs are by faith in order to belong to grace, so that the promise may be made to all their posterity, not only to those who are of the law, but also to those who are of the faith of Abraham. is the father of us all before God, just as it is written, “I made you the father of many nations,” in whom he believed, the God who gives life to the dead and calls things that do not exist as though they were” (Romans 4:16-17). It is like a word of evidence.

“Two-thirds will be cut off from all this land, says the LORD, and a third will remain there; I will throw a third into the fire, and I will refine it as silver is refined, and I will test it as gold. This is my people, and they will say, The LORD is my God.” (Zech 13:8-9) Amen, thank you Lord.
