There are three types of prayer in Psalm 85. We are especially praying for our country and people. How should we pray for this country and people?
First, it is a prayer of thanksgiving.
It is a prayer to express gratitude for the grace that God has given us in the past and to praise God for it. The psalmist gave three thanks.
First, I thanked God for the grace he had given me on this earth (verse 1).
Second, I thanked God for bringing the people of Israel back to Israel (verse 1).
Third, I thanked him for the forgiveness of my sins (verses 2-3).
Second, it is a prayer of supplication (verse 4).
A supplication is a cry out to God over what we need now.
This is the most important point of supplication prayer. “God, who has been gracious to us before, once again free us from our present problems. Please give me one more grace and save me.” We should pray like this for our present.
Third, it is the prayer of faith (verse 9).
Not only should we ask God for our needs, but we should also pray of faith, which expresses confidence in God's future grace. Salvation is believing and expressing that it comes to those who worship God. When we cry out to God and pray, we believe and expect that God will stretch out the hand of salvation and declare it before God.
“Yea, the salvation of the Lord is near to those who fear the Lord, and the glory of the Lord will dwell in our land” (verse 9). It is an expression of conviction.
“The Lord gives good things, and our land bears fruit” (verse 12).
See the psalmist's confession that the glory of God will dwell in our land, mercy and mercy will be revealed, righteousness and peace will be revealed, truth will spring up from the earth, righteousness will come down from heaven, and God will give good things to the earth. can.
Our nation has weaknesses, errors, and sins. There are sins of idolatry, shrine worship, and division. But we ask God. “Heal us, God, save us and restore us. We are a nation of many infirmities, so grant us your grace and mercy on this land.” Show this faith before God.
Please give thanks and praise to God for our personal past as well and ask for His saving hand. “I believe in Almighty God. I believe in my bright future. I believe that God will give good things to me, my family, our church, and this nation.”
