Title: Higher Faith
Hebrews 11:24-26 ‘24. By faith Moses grew up and refused to be called the son of Pharaoh's princess, 25. Rather, he preferred to suffer with God's people, rather than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a short time. They counted it as greater riches than treasure, for they looked to the reward.' - Amen.
You will be saved and live in heaven by believing in Jesus, but depending on how you live and live with faith on earth, the glorious life in heaven will be clothed differently (1 Corinthians 15:40-). If the Apostle Paul is the great apostle in the New Testament (2 Corinthians 11:5-6). Among the figures of the Old Testament times, Moses would also be considered. Among the heroes of faith in the Old Testament, Moses was a person of <higher level of faith>. What is a higher level of faith? What would it be?
1. Faith that forsakes the glory of the world
I can't stand the loss of my glory as individualism expands everywhere in the world (2 Timothy 3:2). Most of the problems of individual members and churches also cause accidents while trying to achieve their own glory. Complaints are non-stop.
John 5:44 “How can you believe in me, since you receive glory from one another and do not seek the glory that is from the only God?”
Moses in the text Hebrews 11:24-25 ‘24. ...he refused to be called the son of Pharaoh's princess, 25. ..and preferred to suffer with God's people than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a while.' It is that Moses refused the place where he could enjoy the pleasures of Egypt.
Moses learned all human wisdom in Egypt, was good in words and deeds, and loved his brother God's people like fire (Acts 7:22. 24 'He killed the Egyptians).
The heart of Jesus, who was described in Philippians 2:5-7 ('..the essence of God, equality with God, did not count as robbery 7. Rather, he emptied himself, taking the form of a servant, in the likeness of men..') He was someone who looked like him and laid down the honor and glory of the world.
That suffering was not simply a training for the sake of one's spiritual state, but it came from the purpose of saving God's people. Without such a heart, there would be no reason to give up the opportunity of the world like that.
2. Faith looking at the prize
In verse 25 of the text, the word ‘disgrace for the sake of Christ’ appears. Even in the Old Testament times, Christ existed (Hebrews 13:8), and suffering for God’s people is identified as suffering for Christ’s sake. He prayed that he was ready to lay down his life for the people (Exodus 32:32), and Paul said the same thing (Romans 9:3).
Hebrews 11:6 “…he who comes to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of those who diligently seek him.”
If you believe in God rightly, the rewards of faith follow, but it is a misunderstanding to say that there is no God's interference with the world's body and culture through dualism. Of course, materialism or reliefism is not biblical.
Hebrews 11:26 “The humiliation received for the sake of Christ was regarded as greater riches than all the treasures of Egypt, for they looked to the reward.”
Paul also said in Philippians 3:14, “I am running toward the goal for the reward of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.”
It is God's reward that is given as a reward because of the heart to care for the people.
Philippians 2:4 “Let each one take care not only of his own business, but also that of others, so that my joy may be full.” - Love brothers
Romans 14:8 “If we live, we live for the Lord; if we die, we die for the Lord; therefore whether we live or die, we are the Lord’s.”
Matthew 6:20 tells us to lay up treasures in heaven. In our Christian faith, the purpose of becoming successful in the world and enjoying blessings is not first. He had a higher level of thinking than all religions.
Moses didn't even try to save God's people by means of worldly elements or such power. He only tried to save the people according to God's will, and although there were some hardships, he sacrificed in view of the reward.
No other person in history has been known as a good leader. Just as Moses' life became a name that received more glory than the glory of Egypt, we bless you to live with a higher level of faith and enjoy the glory God gives you.
