Title: Hiring Workers
Bible: Acts 6: 1 - 7
2008.11.9. afternoon
There is a fairy tale called [The Scarlet Breasted Bird] written by Lagerl f of Sweden, who was the first woman to win the Nobel Prize for Literature.
"Once upon a time, when God was creating all things and animals and plants in the world, in the evening when he was in deep thought, he made a little bird with gray hair. Then he named it the scarlet-breasted bird. "I have gray hair all over, so why did you name it scarlet-breasted?" Then God said, "When you can show true love, you will have feathers worthy of that name."
Many years have passed since then. A cross was erected on a hill near the nest of a scarlet-breasted bird. Then, a man hung up, and the scarlet-breasted bird he had seen from afar flew to the man who was crucified, leaving behind the thought that people were afraid of how pitiful he looked. When I got closer, I saw that there was a crown of thorns on the man's forehead, and dark red blood was gushing out of the thorns. This bird flew to the poor man's forehead and began to pull thorns from the man's forehead with his little beak. Each time the thorns were pulled out, blood gushed out and the little bird was covered in blood. The bird plucks its thorns until exhausted, and sadly returns, because the man has finally died.
However, the blood on his body cannot be cleaned at all. Eventually, bloodstains were left on the nape and chest, and what's even more strange is that each of the chicks the bird gave birth to had bright crimson-colored hairs on the nape and chest."
This scarlet-breasted story is the story of all those who have been called by God to be workers. Here, why did Jesus have to suffer that terrible crucifixion? It is for God's greatest concern, the salvation of those who will perish forever.
Amazing changes are taking place in the early church. People flock to the church.
As the number of saints increases, the work increases and the number of hands increases. So naturally there is a setback. Dissonance is created. So workers are needed. In the future, our church will be revived like this, and the number of members will increase and there will be fewer workers. Then, naturally, workers are needed. I hope you all become workers.
But not everyone can raise workers. A certain standard is required to raise the worker. In particular, everyone can do God's work, but not everyone can do it. Therefore, strict standards for workers, that is, deacons, are prepared in the early church. According to this standard, our church also raises workers.
1. A person who is full of faith
God's work is done by faith. So, without faith, you cannot do God's work. It is God's work that human calculations, human desires, and human hard work cannot do. Therefore, we can do God's work only when we have faith and be full of it.
Faith works miracles. Faith heals the sick. Faith constitutes the work of God's creation. Faith makes the impossible possible. Therefore, faith is what pleases God. Therefore, God's work is done by faith. Hallelujah!
2, a person filled with the Holy Spirit
God's work must be done by God's power, not by human power. The power of God is the Holy Spirit. Likewise, it must be full.
Filled with the Holy Spirit means a person who is filled with the Holy Spirit. When I do not lead me and the Holy Spirit leads me, God's work is accomplished.
Stephen was a man full of spirit. So, while he was stoned and martyred, he was filled with the Holy Spirit and preached the gospel, and his face shone beautifully like an angel.
Who can do God's work? He is a man filled with the Holy Spirit.
3. A person full of wisdom
Sometimes, many people are filled with the Holy Spirit and have good faith, but I see a lot of cases where they do things wrong. Why? Because they lack wisdom.
Samson - there was strength. I am a Nazirite. However, he lacks wisdom and often falls on women. In the end, Delilah fell in love with a Philistine woman and eventually had her eyes pulled out and was reduced to grinding a millstone with a beast iron sword.
Abraham was also a man of faith, but at one time he lacked wisdom, and he took Hagar, his servant's servant, as his wife, and gave birth to Ishmael.
God's work can only be done with zeal. You must have wisdom. That wisdom comes from God. Therefore, we must pray and obtain wisdom.
4. Someone who gets compliments from people
Even if he has faith, is filled with the Holy Spirit, and has wisdom, he cannot be virtuous if his relationships are not good. You have to have good interpersonal relationships with people. You must be a listener of praise.
Dear saints,
Our church must be like the early church.
2008 is coming to an end and 2009 is coming. Our church must also raise workers.
Like the early church, we must raise people who are full of faith, full of the Holy Spirit, full of wisdom, and full of praise.
I sincerely hope that all of you become such people and dedicate yourself as new workers.
