Title: His Glory, My Glory
Contents
Bible Text: John 1:9-14
his glory my glory
Thousands of people came out into the streets to welcome Jesus as they rode a donkey that had never been ridden before and carried Jesus into Jerusalem. Most people took off their coats and spread them on the road, while others broke branches and spread them on the road. They went ahead and behind, and the crowds followed, saying, “Blessed be Hosanna, Son of David. He who comes in the name of the Lord, Hosanna in the highest!” (Matthew 21:9).
As anyone said, I'm not good at getting a donkey foal. The donkey that had been tied up was brought by the disciples of Jesus. It is an honor for a colt to carry Jesus. People did not spread clothes for donkeys and spread branches to the ground. This is for Jesus who is carried by the donkey.
“And we beheld his glory, the glory of the only begotten of the Father” (verse 14). The glory of Jesus was the glory of the only begotten of God. How can I make his glory my glory?
The knowledge of Jesus leads to glory.
The lack of knowledge or knowledge is called ignorance. However, ignorance in the Bible refers to those who have no knowledge of God and worship idols (Jeremiah 10:14).
God said to Job, “Who is it that darkens the mind by words of ignorance?” (Job 38:14). These are the words of Job's friends when they saw that they pretended to know God without knowing it. I think I know, but I'm wrong. They say I can't because I don't know. Knowledge is power.
“… … The word “the world did not know him” means that “the true light” came and illuminates the world, and did not know that it was made through him, but the world did not know him (verses 9-10). The most frustrating thing about Jesus was that he did not know who Jesus was.
When Jesus came to the region of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples. Who do people say I am? “Some say John the Baptist, others Elijah, others say Jeremiah or one of the prophets. “Who do you say you are?” Simon Peter answered, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”
Jesus answered, “Blessed are you, Simon. Flesh and blood did not reveal this, but my Father who is in heaven” (Matthew 16:18).
Jesus gave him the name Peter and the keys of the kingdom of heaven. And whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed. As a fisherman, he became the rock and the foundation of the church. I have the key to heaven. This is possible because you know Jesus right away.
Peter was a great preacher who pierced people's hearts. People flocked. There were 3,000 people who heard the word and were baptized. When I saw Peter speaking boldly, I thought he was an ignorant man, but I was amazed (Acts 4:13). Knowing Jesus makes you wise.
He even raised a crippled man while going up to the temple to pray. Everyone was afraid and surprised. Peter said to them, “Why do you marvel at this? 13) said. Peter became a great preacher by knowing Jesus as the Son of the living God. The knowledge of Jesus became his glory. “The Power of Knowledge” Knowing God is power.
eternal life, that they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent” (John 17:3).
Eternal life is to know God and Jesus. Knowing God and knowing Jesus leads to glory. That is why the Bible says, “Grow in the grace of Christ and in the knowledge of Him, to whom be the glory now and to everlasting days” (2 Peter 318).
I hope to get to know God and Jesus more. That knowledge leads to its glory.
Receiving Jesus leads to glory.
Reception is welcoming and accepting what comes in. Jesus said to Zacchaeus, I must stay at your house today. Rejoicing when you do it, and receiving it is receiving it. “When he came to his own land, his people did not receive him, but to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God” (verses 11-12). It is an honor to be a child of God. There is nothing better than this, and there is no greater glory than this.
Accepting and believing are the same. To receive Jesus is to believe in Jesus, and to believe is to receive. To accept Jesus is to accept life, and to reject Jesus is to reject life. To believe in Jesus is to believe that God is love.
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life” (John 3:16). . Receiving Jesus is a shift from self-centeredness to Jesus-centeredness. Christ is my master and I am his servant. He sits on my throne and I sit at his feet. When we are united with the Son of God, we become the sons of God, and we enjoy the power of sonship that Jesus enjoys.
Are you easy to cycle? Or is it easy to get? difficult to receive. It's hard to get anything that's really useful to me. It is easy for small children to receive sweets, but it is very difficult to give them medicine. You don't take drugs to die. Reluctantly, I squeeze my nose and forcefully open my mouth to give the medicine.
“Open your mouth wide and I will fill it, but my people did not listen to me, and Israel did not want me. Therefore you have given up on the stubbornness of your heart, and have done as he pleases (Psalm 81:10-12).
If you ignore the voice of God, you will leave that person behind. If God leaves him alone, a spirit of separation, a spirit of discontent, a spirit of jealousy, and a spirit of chaos take over him. The result is chaos, separatists and dissatisfied, driving themselves down the road of ruin.
When an evil spirit enters King Saul, he loses his mind and fights all the ugliness. No face either. possessed by evil spirits. “The Spirit of the Lord departed from Saul, and an evil spirit troubled him” (1 Samuel 16:14). It grieves and grieves.
David was different. “Samuel took a jar of oil and poured it on him, and from that day forward David was greatly moved by the Spirit of the Lord.” (1 Samuel 16:13) Saul is troubled, but David is moved. Impression means that the breath of God has been breathed in. I was brought to glory by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit.
“Jesus said, “Did I not see the glory of God if I believed?” (John 11:40) Receive Jesus, believe in Jesus. The believer who receives it will come to that glory. “I tell you the truth, he who believes in me will also do the works that I do, and greater works than these will he do, because I go to the Father” (John 14:12).
Grace and truth bring glory.
Jesus is full of grace and truth. When you accept Jesus, you also receive grace and truth. When I receive grace and accept the truth as mine, I naturally come to glory. It does not become me, but grace and truth.
“The Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld his glory, the glory of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth. We all received from his fulness, grace upon grace. The law was given through Moses, and grace and the truth came through Jesus Christ” (John 1:16-17).
What does it mean to say that Jesus was full of grace and truth? Grace is “charism”. Charisma is joy, joy and beauty. It means that you have an attraction to attract people.
Grace has three important concepts.
First, grace is an attraction. There is a beautiful cuteness and loveliness.
Second, grace is generosity. It is something that is given even when you do not deserve it. Grace is given without hard work.
Third, grace is universality. Anyone who believes in Jesus will be saved. He adopted the children of perdition who were slaves of sin.
Mary was blessed. The angel Gabriel said to Mary, “Peace be with you, you who have found favor” (Luke 1:28). The grace he received is joy, beauty, contentment and happiness. “Peace be with you” is a command to rejoice. Those who have received the grace of God cannot help but rejoice and be happy.
What is truth? Inner consistency. It is a fact that is consistent with reality. Jesus said that I am the way, the truth, and the life. “If you take my words to heart and live, you are my disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free” (John 8:31-32).
Truth gives us faith and becomes a beacon in the darkness. The Reformer Luther said, “The wine is strong, and the king is stronger. Women are stronger than kings. But the truth is the strongest.” All true happiness is with the truth, and all true joy is with the truth. On the day the truth leaves, happiness and joy also depart. In that sense, the most precious treasure is the truth. Truth is always truth, and truth does not need many words. The truth stands out everywhere. He is not afraid even in the presence of the queen. The truth brings us to glory.
May the grace and truth of Jesus come to you and reach its glory.
Accept the true light, the false light will bow its head, and the darkness will retreat. If the knowledge of Jesus dominates me, I will naturally break away from the life I used to commit because I didn't know.
“Look. I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me” (Revelation 3:20).
When I believe in Jesus, his glory will be mine. Let the grace and truth of the Lord rule over you, and his grace and truth will bring us to that glory.
The power of the knowledge of Jesus leads to glory.
If you receive Jesus, if you believe, you will be brought to glory.
May the grace and truth of Jesus bring you to glory.
