His star <Matthew 2:1-12>
In today's text, the story of three wise men walking after a star and meeting the baby Jesus, who was born the king of the Jews, is recorded. These are the people who study the stars. I think there must have been a lot of difficult and difficult things because human life and society are the same now and then. Moreover, how many mysteries are there that are unknown? Where life comes from and where it goes, why some people are unhappy and others happy... There are so many unknowns. Many of these problems were discovered by studying the stars. It seems that he was trying to find it in some stellar sign, thinking that something that would give hope to mankind would happen. So it's like people studying stars.
Is it still the same? Humanity lives by constantly studying the stars. Is there no other place for humans to live other than Earth? Are there no living things? Is there no place to solve the problem of death? That's why I'm researching the stars by launching satellites. It is to solve a certain clue of human life. The same goes for the wise men. One day while studying the stars, they discover a very strange star. I've never seen such a star before. It is a very large and luminous star.
For those who are looking for a way out of the stars, this new star is a hope. They travel after the stars. And they go on a journey to find and worship the main character of such a big and shining star. That's how they came to the land of Judea. It is the land of Judea where the star stopped while guiding them. If so, here's the stellar protagonist. And the protagonist must be the king. So I found Herod's Palace. What do you ask there? Where is the born king of the Jews? They said we have come to worship.
Leaving Bethlehem behind, Herod and his servants leave bewildered. When they saw the star appearing above them again, they rejoiced and rejoiced. And we see the baby Jesus born in a manger in Bethlehem.
Gold, frankincense and myrrh are given to Jesus. Then, after being instructed by the angel not to go to Herod, he returns to his hometown by a different route. They were the first to meet Jesus. The stars guided them. The stars gave them joy. The stars gave them favor. That star is the star of Jesus. It is his star who came as king.
1. his star
What kind of star appeared to them? his star. It is the star of Jesus who came as the Messiah. It is the star of the Lord that I hoped for. As the king of the Jews, he is the star of the naked man. It is the star of the Lord who came as the King of Kings. It is the star of Jesus who came as a light of hope in a dark and gloomy world. The world has become brighter with that light. People's hearts have been brightened. The wise men say we came from the East after the star. It's clear. I'm sure. Aren't these people who study the stars? That's why I've prepared a gift. Jesus is the bright morning star (Revelation 22:16).
We must look to the sky and live. You have to look up to the sky to see the stars. When I went to the Promised Garden and looked at the night sky, the splendor of how many stars there are is beyond words. Not only the autumn leaves of Mt. Seorak are beautiful, but not only the coast of Jeju Island is mysterious, but how beautiful and mysterious the stars in the night sky are. These days, many city dwellers have forgotten this beauty. There is no time to look up at the sky to satisfy the worldly and animal desires, either because they are immersed in their sanity to live on their own. You have to look at the sky to see the stars, but when you look at the ground, it is only dark. I'm afraid. But everyone, look at the sky at night. Then the darkness will disappear and your path will become brighter.
The same goes for the path of life. If you look up and look to the sky, you will see God, Jesus, God's promises, and the light of hope, but people only look at the earth. Herod, who looked only at the ground, could not see the stars. The priests and scribes who looked only at the earth could not see the star of Jesus. So, even though the doctors came from the east, they are all right. Although the wise men have come with conviction and faith, the so-called religious leaders do not know. I don't have faith. I'm not sure.
I can't believe it even when I open the Bible and read it. Just imagine. Those who have not read the Bible run with faith saying that a king has been born, but those who read the Bible dozens of times and memorize it do not believe in the words of the Bible. Because they only think of the earth. Those who think only of the earth cannot see the stars. It is the same today. I hope you all think of the things of heaven and live while looking at the sky. They will meet the Lord. His star is the star of Jesus.
2. His star is a guiding star.
The Magi have followed the stars. It was the stars that guided them. In verse 9, ?쐔he star suddenly led him ahead, and as he was going, it stayed over the place where the child was.??The star led him. How do sailing ships find their way at night? Look and find the stars. Look at the place where the morning star rises, ah, this is the west side. That's east So it's about taking the direction. We have a song like that too. ?쏛 wooden rabbit with a cassia tree on a white indigo boat of the Milky Way in the blue sky. Wherever you go across the Milky Way, the shining star that shines in the distance is the lighthouse. Find your way.??
We are the sailors of the seas of life. We need a star to guide us on this path of life. How many people ruin their lives by finding the wrong stars? Who is the star that guides us? Isn't that Jesus Christ? The way he walked, the life he lived, the words he left behind. command he commanded. Aren't all of these promises a light that guides our way? Has anyone failed in following this light? No one has failed in following this light. All the failed ones found this light and came back and won. Success. Do you want to end your life's voyage with success? May the Lord be your star. Please follow that star and buy it. You are successful. He does not fail those who follow him because he has never failed.
In Isaiah 48:17, ??I am the LORD your God, who teaches you to benefit you, says the LORD, and guides you in the way you should go. Only God allows us not to fail. We must follow God, follow Jesus, and live according to the Word. That is the secret to overcoming this difficult world. ?쏮y soul is always at ease, whether the road in my life has been smooth and it is always like a calm river, or it is scary and difficult due to big winds and waves. Even if that devil comes running with his mouth open to devour us, the Lord Jesus is our captain, so we will fight and win. My soul is at peace my soul is at peace my soul The Lord is guiding us today. I believe that those who are led by the Lord will find peace.
3, His star is a star that gives joy.
The Magi said that they were delighted to see the stars. Verse 10, ?쏻hen they saw the stars, they rejoiced and rejoiced the most.??The stars did not disappoint them. Then do it. It was. Where did the stars stop? This is where the baby Jesus is. It was the place of the King of kings, the Lord of the Lord. His star gave them double the joy. Please believe that God gives us twice the joy today. Psalm 37:4 says, "Delight yourself in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart."
Dear brothers and sisters, if Christmas is true, I hope you enjoy it. The Lord has come. You came by faith. I believe that he will come to those who believe today. The king came according to the beliefs of the wise men. I met the king. The wise men of the East who have confirmed this fact cannot help but rejoice and rejoice. Believe it today. The Lord has come. We live by the grace of the Lord who came for us. You should rejoice and rejoice. Christianity is a religion of joy.
If you live happily, you are healthy, those who live happily will live a long life, those who live happily will be happy, and those who live happily will succeed. Our members should rejoice before God. We must be victorious and rejoice (2 Chronicles 20:27), worship and rejoice (Nehemiah 12:43), and rejoice before God in pain and suffering (Job 6:10). We must rejoice even when we are persecuted (Matthew 5:11-12), we must rejoice when we repent of our sins (Luke 15:7), and we must rejoice when we suffer tribulation (2 Corinthians 7:4). We should always rejoice (Philippians 4:4).
We have been blessed beyond measure. And his grace will continue to come upon me in the future. His star is a star that brings joy. Open the door of your heart and look to the sky. The star of the Lord is floating. The star will guide you. It will make the star thrill with joy. I pray that his star will rise in every heart of your heart.
