Title: History of Miracles (2 Kings 04:1-7)
The content of the text is that one of the prophets also owed a wife and children, and died without being able to repay it. Because of this incident, the wife of the prophet's student came to Elisha the prophet and complained about the pitiful situation.
When Elisha heard the plight of the situation, he asked, "What do you have in your house?" and he replied, "I only have a bottle of oil." Upon hearing this, Elisha told him to go and borrow many empty vessels. He obeyed, sold oil in empty vessels, paid off all his debts, and made a living with what was left.
Modern people are hoping for a miracle while living in the age of all-around science. Even now, God can experience miracles as long as they have the qualifications for miracles to happen, solve problems, and make impossible things possible even for incurable diseases or cures. So how can miracles happen?
1. I must give my possessions (2 Kings 4:2).
“What do you have?” he asked. Miracles are many, few or many, and when I entrust and entrust what I have to the Lord, 'That is when you experience miracles. Proverbs 16:3 says, “Commit your works to the Lord, and your plans will be fulfilled.” Psalm 37:5 says, “Commit your way to the Lord, trust in him, and he will do it, and he will make your righteousness shine like the light of day, and your justice like the noonday light.” Let us consider that fact in the Bible.
1) It is the miracle of five fish (Matthew 14:19-21).
It was five barley loaves and two fish, but when the little boy gave it to the Lord and gave it to the Lord, he gave thanks and shared the loaves. It is not a matter of how many or few things are like this, but whether or not you have faith that is completely entrusted to and dependent on God.
2) It is the miracle of the widow of Zarephath's flour box (1 Kings 17:8-16).
The miracle of being able to eat and live in peace because the flour barrel did not dry out and the oil jar did not dry out during the three years and six months of drought, as the widow of Zarephath and Elijah the servant of God said, she was about to die after eating the last meal. will be
2. You must be patient and wait until the end (Matthew 24:13).
When the last bottle of oil was left in the house of the prophet mentioned in the text, a miracle of God happened. The sayings, "God helps in the end" and "looking at the bottom will open the way" are truly correct. Let's find an example of that in the Bible.
1) It is the miracle of the Red Sea (Ex 14:26-31).
Even at the time of dividing the Red Sea, when the people of Israel reached the shore of the Red Sea and had to either drown or be caught and killed, the Red Sea was divided and crossed like land, and the Egyptian soldiers who followed were buried when they were joined together.
2) It is a miracle when crossing the Jordan River (Joshua 3:13-17).
Even when crossing the Jordan River, the rooms of the priests carrying the ark began to separate when they reached the Jordan River. Those who believe that God is the ultimate helper and wait until the end. Those who are discouraged without going there will not be able to receive the miracle of God's blessings. Therefore, man's end is God's beginning, and man's despair becomes God's opportunity.
3. It happens when we obey (John 2:1-11).
As the text says, miracles will happen when the prophet's wife believes and obeys Elisha's words. No miracle can be expected without obedient faith.
1) It is a miracle at the wedding in Cana (2:1-11).
The miracle of turning water into wine at a wedding in Cana of Galilee also happened when we obeyed the Lord's word.
2) It is the miracle of Peter's fishing (Luke 5:1-11).
By obeying Peter's words of the Lord, he experienced the miracle of catching so many fish that their nets were torn.
Without faith that transcends calculations and senses, God cannot experience miracles. So please leave it to the Lord. We hope that you will believe and wait until the end, and there must be obedience of faith that transcends human thought.
