Holy Burden / Romans 9:1-5

I tell the truth in Christ, I do not lie. My conscience bears witness with me in the Holy Spirit that I have great sorrow and unceasing pain in my heart. Even if we lose, we want it. For they are Israelite, and to them they have adoption, glory, covenants and law, worship and promises, and their fathers, and if it is in the flesh, Christ was born of them, who is above all, to be praised for all generations. You are the acceptable God, Amen.

Introduction

People's interests are different. Everyone pays close attention to areas of interest. As I drive by, I look at the churches one more time. Isn't there a saying 'what the eye only sees'? Marriage is also the interest of the sisters who are full of marriage. Business people are interested in money. What are your interests?

The interests of those who do not know Jesus are mainly outward. Then, what should be the interest of those who believe in Jesus? Saving the world! It has to be something to save people. It is our vision. This is why the Christian community exists.

In today's text, we can get a glimpse of Paul's heart. His interest was in the evangelization of the whole country. He is expressing his sadness in order to evangelize his country, Israel.

Paul was a great evangelist. However, there were people who hindered his evangelism, and they were none other than his own compatriots. It was the Jews who tried to kill him on his three missionary journeys. Acts 14:19 "The Jews came from Antioch and Iconium, and overpowered the crowds, and stoned them, thinking they were dead, and dragged them outside the city." The Jews followed Paul and harassed him. Religious stalker. Paul was constantly persecuted by his own people.

Nevertheless, Paul loved Israel. Without love, you cannot evangelize. Do you have this burden?

If you think that our Lord died on the cross because Jesus was caught up in some kind of responsibility, it would be a misunderstanding. Jesus died on the cross because He loved us.

Let's listen to Paul's feelings in today's text again with a joint translation.

“As a man of Christ, I tell the truth and I do not lie. My conscience, moved by the Holy Spirit, tells me that it is true. If it is so, there will be no limit if I myself fall away from Christ by being cursed. My people are Israelis. They have the privilege of being children of God, they have the honor of having God, and they have a covenant with God. There is the law, there is the true worship, there is the promise of God. They are the descendants of those great ancestors, and Christ was born of them, speaking in humanity. Let us praise the God who rules over all things forever. Amen."

In Exodus 32:32 we find the prayer of Moses. "But now, if you agree, forgive their sins. If not, please blot out my name from the book you have written." This is the image of Moses who loved the sinful people of Israel. Moses' love saved them.

The founder of the Salvation Army, William Booth, was puzzled, wondering why the British Christians of that time would not evangelize. Looking at the Christian of that time who said he knew the gospel and had faith, but was indifferent to the souls of his neighbors, he said one day he prayed, "God, help the saints in England open their eyes and see hell."

We need these feelings first. Love of souls! God give us a heart to love souls!

Youth group evangelism plan

We are praying for the Taeshinja evangelism movement on May 28th. The one-time mobilization evangelism meeting in the past is problematic.

Decide on your target first!

A clothing store has a concept. If there is a store that sells everything from grandma clothes to new generation clothes, it is only a matter of time before that house goes bankrupt. Therefore, you need to decide who you are going to evangelize. Make friends with unbelievers who have a crush on Christianity, or who used to go to church and are now taking a break!

Evangelism is often compared to fishing. A true angler is willing to go down the street to catch a fish. And no one wants the fish to automatically jump into my boat every time I go fishing. Their culture is different from ours. To come into contact with the meat requires a deliberate effort on my part.

We select evangelists, submit one of the lists, and you have one. After that we will put the list and continue praying. On May 28th, we will hold the so-called open worship service, the seeker worship. We invite all evangelists to our church that day. I am also preparing a talk show sermon that day. For this job, the Kyungchan team will hire CCM singers, the drama team will prepare the drama, and the media video team will do street interviews. Then we will present the gospel.

Let's go forward dreaming of the evangelization of our country, dreaming of the season of Christ on this earth, and dreaming of new days to be reborn. I hope that every place filled with sin will be burned with the fire of the Holy Spirit.
