Title: Holy Spirit and Love

▒▒▒ Bible _ John 13:34~35
Today, we want to spend time thinking about the Holy Spirit and love. The essence of Christianity is love. It is the Holy Spirit that instills this love in us and enables us to put it into practice. It can be said that the Holy Spirit is the Spirit of God and the Spirit of Jesus Christ.
It can also be said that the Holy Spirit is love. Why can we say that the Holy Spirit is love? In 1 Corinthians 12, the nine gifts of the Holy Spirit are recorded. At the center of the nine gifts of the Holy Spirit is love. Because without love, gifts are nothing. In Galatians 5 there are nine fruits of the Spirit. Of the nine fruits of the Holy Spirit, the first is love. In this way, the Holy Spirit and love are inseparable.
Because the center of Christianity is love, we live by doing love. We can live and love our family. But can you live loving people who don't deserve you? Can we live loving the people who hurt and hurt us? As a Christian, it is very natural to love and live, but loving these people is never easy. Because it's hard to pay attention to something worthless, and you'll harbor anger rather than forgive the person you hurt.
We see forgiveness as forgetting and erasing those who hurt and hurt us. But in fact, this is a work of judgment. Matthew 7 tells us not to judge others. The criticism I'm talking about here is that first, don't get into the habit of criticizing others. The second Greek word to criticize is krino, which refers to what judges judge right or wrong. And crino also refers to when we go to the supermarket to buy tofu, we judge whether this tofu suits our taste or not. By the way, Jesus' words, "Do not criticize," correspond to the high crime of Psalm 19:13. High crimes are when we stand in God's place and judge and criticize others.
In Leviticus 19:18, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself” appears first. The greatest grace the Holy Spirit gives us is to teach us how much we are loved. What is clear is that we can never love others unless we realize that we are loved by God. So, when we receive grace and receive the Holy Spirit, we automatically cry. You will realize the love of God who loves beings like me. Peter threw his net and tried to catch fish all night, but was disappointed that he could not catch a single fish. Jesus builds Peter's self-esteem by throwing his net again into the depths and catching many fish.
1 Corinthians 13 is a love chapter. “Love is long-suffering, kind, not jealous, does not boast, is not arrogant, is not rude, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil, bears all things, does all things. hope, believes all things, endures all things.” It is too difficult to keep all these words. As we, who have self-esteem, we cannot love even though we should naturally love.
St. Francis was the son of refusal. He had an enormous fortune. But after accepting Jesus, he gave all of his wealth to the poor. After that, as he walks down the street, he meets a man covered in pus. But he passed him by. Because it was so dirty that I didn't even dare to touch him. That evening the Holy Spirit began to knock on Francis' heart. “Francis, how did you pass that pussy patient?” Francis says: “It was too dirty to get close.” Jesus says. “Actually, you were more filthy than that pussy brother. I loved you like that.” Through the events of that day, he makes this confession. “I could have given away all the wealth my father had given me, but I could not love my handsome brother.” It was the Holy Spirit that moved Francisco's heart. Therefore, love cannot be done in our own strength. We can't do it in our ability. It is through the Holy Spirit that we can love.
For three weeks, I talked about the Holy Spirit and faith, the Holy Spirit and hope, and the Holy Spirit and love. The conclusion is one. If you want to become a person of faith, hope, and love, you must forsake yourself. And we must put ourselves into the hands of the Holy Spirit. “Lord, accept me. May the Holy Spirit rule me completely.” I bless you in the name of the Lord that these prayers and confessions will come to you.
