Ruth 1:1-22 / home
So, what happened to that family who followed their fleshly thoughts and migrated to a foreign land? Perhaps everything went well for a while after moving to Moab. With the food, clothing and shelter issues resolved, I may have been much more full than I was when I was living in Bethlehem. However, such happiness was short-lived, and after a while the family meets the tragedy of the sudden death of Elimelech, the head of the family. However, his wife, Naomi, married two sons after her husband's death and took Moabite virgins as daughters-in-law. Perhaps they made a plan to live in that land from generation to generation. However, shortly thereafter, the two sons also died following their father's footsteps. What a desperate situation it must have been, since not only the mother-in-law became a widow, but also the two daughters-in-law who lost their husbands.
When Ruth insists so strongly, Naomi does not hold back any further and returns to her homeland with Ruth. And after arriving in Bethlehem, while serving her mother-in-law wholeheartedly, Ruth met Boaz, a powerful figure in Bethlehem, and married him. As Ruth's great-grandson, King David, the greatest king in Israel's history, was born. And the grace given to Naomi and Ruth, who returned to God's bosom, does not stop there. Jesus Christ, the savior of all mankind, will come to this earth as a descendant of King David who was born as Ruth's great-grandson. Truly, Naomi's family will receive wonderful spiritual blessings.
A lot of people say so. For those who believe in Jesus, all things should go well. The family should be prosperous and wealthy, and all the children should be successful and live well. Then they think that unbelievers will see and believe in God. Of course, there are no such cases. However, the true faith we find in Ruth today is rather the faith that realizes the person of God and the existence of God by seeing the hand of God who finally leads his people to his bosom in the midst of hardship and adversity. That's right. Even today, we do not believe that God lives because everything is going well and everything is going well in our lives. When we truly believe that God lives and realize His love and grace, when we go astray, He does not leave us as God's people as we are, but returns to God's bosom, which ends through various hardships and trials. It is in the fact that you are doing it.
That's right. It is the pride and happiness of our people of God that when we get out of our place, even through trials and tribulations, He brings us back to God's bosom. And I believe that God grants wonderful blessings that we never imagined to children who realize God's hand and urge them to return. Recently, a movie called 'Home...' has been a hot topic in the market, but I hope this fall will be the season for all of us to return to 'home'. I pray that you will become saints who return to your Father's arms with the belief that our ultimate happiness and joy is only in the Father's house.
