Sermon Title
O Israel, hope in the LORD
Psalm 130:1-8
New Testament text
Acts 10:25-33
Old Testament
1. From the depths I cried out to you, O LORD.
2. Hear my voice, Lord; give ear to my cry.
3. If you see iniquity, O LORD, who will stand, O LORD?
4. But you have forgiveness, for you are feared.
5. I, my soul, wait for the LORD, and I wait for your word.
6. My soul waits for the Lord more than a watchman waits for the morning; yea, more than a watchman waits for the morning.
7. Hope in the LORD, Israel, for the LORD is merciful and has abundant redemption.
8. He will redeem Israel from all his iniquities.
new testament
25. Just as Peter was coming in, Cornelius met him and fell at his feet and worshiped him.
26. Peter got up and said, “Stand up, I am a man.”
27. Talking with them, they went in and saw a group of people gathered together.
28. And he said, "You know that as a Jew, it is against the law to associate with a Gentile, but God has commanded me to call no one unclean or unclean."
29. I came here without refusing to call. I ask you, what did you call me for?
30. Cornelius said, "Four days ago, until this time, while I was praying at the ninth hour in my house, suddenly a man in a bright robe stood before me.
31. And he said, Cornelius, God has heard your prayer and has remembered your alms.
32. Send someone to Joppa and ask for Simon, who is called Peter, for he lodges in the house of Simon the tanner by the sea.
33. I have sent you right away, and it is well that you have come. Now we are all before God to hear all that the Lord has commanded you.
