Bible: 1 Corinthians 5:9-13. Sunday, March 18, 2007 Sermon.
Title: The Scattered Church.
I believe that God will bless you today.
A church is a gathering of only those whom God has called from the world of sin.
It is a very special and distinct place.
That's why so many people of God are always gathering in the church.
We listen to the Word and give offerings during worship.
And it is the church where the sacraments, discipline, and discipline are practiced.
However, the church does not stop at gatherings like this,
It is not only a place to gather to worship, but also to break bread while fellowshipping with each other.
So, while talking to each other, according to the spiritual and physical needs
Comforted and recharged.
And then you go out into the world again.
Go out and live the life of a saint. This is referred to as the “diaspora”.
That is, it is a scattered church. The Jewish diaspora
It has been everywhere in the world.
Everyone! Listen carefully. At first, many people called the church
The meeting was held in one tangible building.
And we receive the grace of God that comes down from heaven.
In other words, the Holy Spirit of God dwells with the Word of God.
Each individual, each individual, becomes the temple of the Holy Spirit of God.
And the number grows exponentially.
And after that, they scattered for their respective missions.
It is going out into the world. And now another object
They become churches and live by fulfilling their duties.
It is a life of service for all souls.
It is a life of sacrifice. It is the life of the cross. And it is a life of death.
Everyone! This is God's will. God is the God of Immanuel.
He gave up all the glory of heaven and came to this earth and took up the cross.
And he forgave our sins and rose from the grave and came to heaven.
1 John 4:9-10. God's love was revealed to us in this way
God sent his only begotten son into the world
that we might live through him. 10 Here is love, that we
We did not love, but God loved us.
He sent His Son as a propitiation for our sins.
Everyone! God Himself is such a lowly and lowly human being.
You found the world. Jesus visited Cana's wedding banquet house.
Then he found Zacchaeus who was on the mulberry tree and called him
You said that today I will stay at your house.
Jesus also visited the city of Nain and told the widow
He comforted you and took pity on the death of the reader.
And he immediately raised the widow's only son to life.
On the other hand, Jesus took the dead Lazarus directly
He went to see him and told him that Lazarus would get up.
Neither Maraah nor Martha, who was the sister of the dead, believed;
Many people around did not believe it, but
Our Jesus mourned his death and shed tears,
Moreover, he was very pitiful and brought him back to life.
This is how Jesus found Him wherever He was
That's why Matthew 28:19-20 says this.
Go and make disciples of all nations, of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit
baptize them in the name (20) and teach them to obey all that I have commanded you.
Behold, I am with you always, even to the end of the world.
This is “mission”.
Everyone! I'm going to talk a little bit about the church in the Middle Ages today.
During the Middle Ages, from the middle of the 5th century to the 11th century, when the Roman Empire fell
This period is called the Dark Ages.
The Western Roman Empire fell in 476 AD.
In this era, in a word, all human thoughts and actions
It was a time when the church ruled. Therefore, except for the study of Catholic monks,
It was a time when nothing else could exist.
At that time, monasteries were very popular.
What is a monastery? The house where monks and nuns lived,
In other words, it was built by those who prayed.
Early monks were more communal than
They had a strong hermit personality and lived independently or as very few.
That is why, in caves or huts, or building huts,
I lived a very isolated life, praying and meditating while fasting.
Especially at that time, an apostle called “Simon-Sitilla” was there for 36 years.
It is said that he lived atop a high pillar and led a life of extreme celibacy.
Most monasteries at that time built high walls around them.
He lived a life completely cut off from the world.
The extreme ascetics who only thought of hardship, austerity and integrity
Life was the life of a monastery.
Everyone! The church must abandon the sense of defeat or the sense of privilege.
And you have to be social. We must live for our neighbors.
We must fulfill the role of light and salt.
First, you must lead a clean and conscientious life.
You have to keep your home right. and sanctify the church,
And keep it holy.
On the other hand, tolerance towards the world, understanding and love for the unbelievers,
And we must spare no effort to provide relief and service.
But within the church, it is strictly, strictly, and very strictly governed.
You will have to save Kwon Jing (勸懲).
That is why the Apostle Paul gives the following strict command in verse 13 of today's text.
Outsiders are judged by God, but cast these people out of your midst.
Matthew 18:15-17. If your brother sins, go and
Admonish only with that person; if you hear, you have gained your brother.
16) If you don't listen, take one or two people with you.
(17) If you do not listen to their words, let the two or three witnesses speak
If you speak to the church and do not listen to it, treat it like a Gentile and a tax collector
Everyone! Let's see how it was done in the Old Testament times.
Deuteronomy 21:18-21. I have a son who is stubborn and rebellious
Even if the parents do not obey the words of their father or the words of their mother,
don't listen
19) His parents took him and brought him to the gate of the city.
go to the elders of the city
20) Say to the elders of the city,
This child of ours is hard-headed and rebellious, and does not obey our language.
They are said to be licentious and drunk
21) All the people of that city shall stone him to death.
Remove evil from among you, and all Israel will hear and be afraid.
A boy who doesn't listen and gets upset one day will nail his parents' chest like this
Proverbs 29:1. He who is often reproved, yet stiffens his neck,
You will be suddenly defeated and you will not be able to escape.
2 Peter 2:10-12. New translation of the Bible.
Especially those who live according to the lusts of the flesh and despise the authority of God.
He will punish people even more severely. they are bold
Arrogant and fearless, they curse the heavenly beings.
11) But even angels with greater strength and power than them
I do not accuse them of slandering them before the Lord.
12) They are like irrational beasts born to be caught and killed.
They curse what they do not know, and they will perish like beasts.
Everyone! That is why Proverbs 12:1 says:
He who loves discipline loves knowledge.
He who hates discipline is like an animal.
Everyone! People in the Middle Ages fled to the mountains because they were afraid of sin.
Or they fled to a distant wilderness. Then build a hut or in a crypt
I was just nurturing and living. Just a passively innocent place
I was struggling to find it.
But the Bible doesn't say that.
Drive out sin in the church, but go out to
He also tells us to love those sinners.
And do not be afraid of sin, but rather
He tells us to fight evil and overcome it.
God's grace is always with you
I hope you are together. Amen.
