Title The Devil Aspires / John 10:10
Ghosts (demons) like people who ignore ghosts or believe that there are no ghosts, but are afraid of those who know and oppose ghosts.
“Therefore submit yourselves to God, resist the devil, and he will flee from you” (James 4:7).
“The thief comes only to steal and to kill and to destroy; I have come that they may have life and have it more abundantly” (verse 10).
What is the purpose of the Devil's work?
1. Breaking Us Through Thoughts
“The devil has already put in the heart of Judas Iscariot the son of Simon the desire to betray Jesus” (John 13:2) The devil is a spirit creature and works through our thoughts. The devil is a being who injects the opposite of living thoughts.
Adam and Eve, King Saul, and Judas Iscariot could not distinguish between their thoughts and their thoughts, but they became prey to the devil. Therefore, our mind should always be filled with thoughts, not blind spots.
“Guard your heart above all else, for it is the wellspring of life” (Proverbs 4:23).
2. The devil works through eating
Food is a gift from God. But in the Bible, there are people who ate wrong and perished. Adam and Eve ate the forbidden fruit and were driven out of the Garden of Eden and perished forever. Isaac's son Esau sold his birthright for a bowl of red bean porridge, depriving him of eternal spiritual blessings.
Foods that are beneficial to the body are raw, and foods that are harmful to the body are eaten raw. The food that the devil recommends is alcohol, tobacco, and drugs.
Since Christians have been sanctified in Jesus and called to be saints, they should not eat fast food.
“Do you not know that you are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwells in you? For the temple of God is holy, and so are you” (1 Corinthians 3:16).
3. The devil tempts by seeing
It is a great blessing to be able to see, but the Bible records many people who have been ruined by wrong looking.
“So Lot lifted up his eyes and looked at the Jordan, and there was plenty of water in all the land as far as Zoar, and it was like the garden of the Lord, and it was like the land of Egypt, before the Lord destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah” (Genesis 13:10).
The devil can't look at heaven and Jesus for anything, but only sees things that will perish.
But to be a Christian means to change from strabismus to life, and Christians are people who have changed their worldly view into a spiritual one.
“Let us look to Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith” (Hebrews 12:2).
If we are vigilant, the devil will not miss this moment. “Be sober and watchful, for your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour; resist him, strong in the faith” (1 Peter 5:8-9).
4. The Devil Works Through Emotions
As we go through conflicts with people in our lives, we develop feelings of empathy, or hurt, in our hearts, and as a result, the devil comes and suffers.
A great way to heal this broken feeling is forgiveness. The Lord overcame the devil and gave us the authority to cast out demons. If we confess forgiveness, the devil will reveal his identity and retreat, but if we do not forgive, our lives will be wasted.
“If you do not forgive anyone, neither will your Father forgive you” (Matthew 6:15).
