John 2:1-11
Those who have received Jesus Christ by faith will continue their lineage in a new family called children of God who called God their Father. May is family month. Words given to us on Mother's Day today John 2 is the story of Jesus' first signs of turning water into wine at a wedding feast where there was no wine. The word begins like this.
The first marriage was in Cana of Galilee. Marriage is the greatest consideration and blessing God created for mankind. Marriage is an institution created by God. At the time of the creation of the heavens and the earth, the God who created Adam created Eve, a helper for Adam, who was living alone, established a family, and blessed him. "God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created them, male and female, and God blessed them and said to them, "Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth. Subdue it. Fish of the sea and the air." have dominion over the birds of God and over every living thing that moves on the earth” (Genesis 1:27-28).
Second, to this marriage Jesus and his disciples were also invited. This was a blessing for this family. Today, this family became the basis for creating a decisive opportunity to be saved from the crisis of destruction. To tell the truth, while many were invited, Jesus and his disciples were also invited. This may be the starting point of our faith. If you still don't believe in Jesus as my Lord and my God, don't panic. But it shouldn't last long. While listening to the Word and walking with the Lord, with the help of the Holy Spirit, the confession that 'Jesus is the Christ' must be made. But most of all, it is very fortunate that Jesus was invited to the feast of life. Be grateful for having this blessing.
Third, there was not enough wine for this wedding. I don't know if there was a lack of preparation or if there were more guests than expected, but what is clear is that the wine prepared for the feast ran out. The feast of our life could be like this. I thought it would be enough, but because of unexpected shortcomings, things that started well can be very difficult to end. What was lacking? What wine has run out in your home? There are always shortcomings in our lives. This is the will of God in creation. God has made us all want. However, this lack is not a curse, but a blessing that allows us to live together with God, and it is also a blessing for us to live together.
Even if we have perfectly prepared everything, if there is no work of God's blessing, we will eventually face a crisis due to lack of it. Not everything in our lives is possible because of our exceptional ancestry, our rich background, or our extraordinary talent or resourcefulness. It's definitely not enough. This is God's providence of creation. You could go bankrupt in front of this shortfall. But the lack is an opportunity for those of faith. It is an opportunity to have Jesus as the Lord of your life, an opportunity to show your faith in obedience, and an opportunity to experience the Lord's work in your life. You can also use the shortfall as an opportunity for blessing. It is possible to turn a humble life into a miraculous life. Our family can also be saved by faith. May this amazing thing happen to your families and families, in the name of the Lord bless you.
