Title The First Missionary Journey
Contents The 1st outreach trip
Acts 13:4-12
In the last lesson, we learned an important fact that the first ministry of the Antioch church was the beginning of relief and missionary work. The life of the church is mission and evangelism.
And as they obeyed the instructions of the Holy Spirit, they learned how to set Barnabas and Saul apart, fast, and lay their hands on them to send them out.
For the first missionary journey, I learned that God set Paul and Barnabas apart, laid their hands on them, and prepared to send them.
Dear saints,
Barnabas and Saul hear the voice of the Holy Spirit and immediately begin to move as the Holy Spirit leads them.
Greetings. Let us obey the voice of the Holy Spirit.
Look at verses 4-5.
This text tells how the official activities of the first missionaries began.
First, we want to learn a few things from this verse. (1) The mission of a missionary or church is hearing the voice of the Holy Spirit and moving according to the sending of the Holy Spirit.
In verse 4, two men were sent by the Holy Spirit to enter the island of Cyprus through the port of Silugia. Who told them to go there? Whose plan is it?
What is clear is that it was confirmed only by one person, and he led them to the Holy Spirit.
This is mission. Our problem is that the beginning of mission is good, but we are not sensitive to the voice of the Holy Spirit in the process. And even if you hear the voice of the Holy Spirit, you have to solve the problem on your own.
Those who truly listen to the voice of the Holy Spirit will surely see fruit. Those who pray in the rainy season must
It represents the fruit of God.
In this sense, we need to pray deeply, but Barnabas and Saul belonged to the Antioch church and served diligently as saints until they went on a mission. As recorded in verses 1-3, we did our best to study the Bible and serve. We can see this well in Acts 11:26.
The next thing found in verses 4-5 is that Barnabas and Saul receive the Lord's command and set off, and the important thing here is to receive recognition. In other words, it is not that I want to go alone, but that all members of the church must admit it. It is very dangerous to go out zealously on your own even though the church does not approve.
Those who do what God wants are those who hear the voice of the Holy Spirit.
