Title The First Vision (Daniel 07:1-12)
Contents 1. The apocalypse begins in the book of Daniel. No one has yet accurately interpreted the apocalypse that Daniel received.
2.People have tried to apply plausible applications to various symbols in their own way, but they were right and wrong. Therefore, our attitude toward the book of Daniel should not be overly mystical.
3. It is important to understand the meaning of prophecy. The core of prophecy is "the end of time and God's judgment".
I. How I saw the revelation (1-3) A. Background of the revelation
1. I saw it at night. The night is a quiet time. People have prayed at night since ancient times.
That's why we still pray all night. The night is a good time for spiritual fellowship with the Lord.
2. It was a revelation through dreams and brains. God often showed dreams to the prophets. Of course, I still see people who say they have had dreams, but you should be careful.
Because our dreams are different from the dreams of the prophets.
3. The dream was recorded. This dream was not a personal dream. He used the dream to reveal God's will. And this content is a revelation of the redemption movement to save souls through the ages.
B. Beast fantasy background
1. The four winds in the sky blew. The four winds are a term that symbolizes the entire universe.
It is saying that God's providence rules the natural world. This wind sometimes brings war, famine and floods.
2. The four winds of heaven are driven to the great sea. In Revelation 17:15, the great sea means this world. Like the waves of the sea, the nations of the world rise and fall.
3. Under the influence of the four winds that rushed into the sea, four great beasts came out of the sea.
These big beasts represent four kinds of empires. Maybe they mean the former communist countries that have been tyrannical.
II. Four kinds of beasts appeared (4-8).
A. The first beast lion
1. The lion is the king of the animal kingdom. It symbolizes strength and courage. This symbolizes the Babylonian Empire at the time. Babylon was cruel to neighboring countries like a lion.
2. It has a unique shape.1) It has the wings of an eagle. The eagle flaps its wings to search for food. The Babylonian Empire at that time ran like an eagle in search of food with its wings flapping to conquer the world. went
2) Soon, the dog was pulled out. Just as Samson who had his hair shaved lost his strength, it meant that Babylon's strength was short.
3) He stood on two legs like a human. He was a lion before, but now he lost his power and returned to a normal human being. When a person who enjoyed power loses his power, he becomes an ordinary human.
4) He received the human heart. An internal change occurred. It is like Nebuchadnezzar when he was proud and he was like an animal, but he was punished by God and repented and became humble.
B.Second Beast Bear
1. It means Mede and Pasa, symbolized by silver in Daniel 2. The bear symbolizes foolishness in the Bible (1 Samuel 17:34, Proverbs 28:15). It is dull and slow, but powerful. And fierce.
2. He had three ribs in his mouth. The bear's greed meant ferocity. He touched Inara and other countries like a bear.
C. The third beast leopard
1. It means the Greek Empire. It is a country like brass.
2. This beast was deformed. It had three wings on its back. It had four heads.
D. The fourth beast
1. It had destructive power that could not be compared with the previous three beasts. It was silver and iron, and its claws were bronze. It had ten horns.
2. Historically, this beast means the Roman Empire. However, this beast had ten horns. There were two types of these ten horns. It was divided into a large horn and a small horn. So I saw that these ten horns symbolize the Antichrist.
III. I saw God the Judge (9-12).
A. God who sits on the throne.
1. I saw the eternal God. In verse 9, it is said that the Ancient of Days was seated.
2. He saw the God of holiness and holiness. It was said that his clothes were white as snow, and his hair was like pure savage hair.
3. I saw the living God of judgment. It is said that his throne is a flame and his wheels are flaming fire. It is said that fire flows like a river and comes out before him. Fire symbolizes God. In Exodus 3, God is Moses appeared in flames to
