Title The gene of thanksgiving (Psalm 106:1, 47)

gene of gratitude

Psalm 106:1, 47-48

You may be familiar with the famous French painter [Fran ois Millet]. It is famous for a work called For Us. The painting, which is often called, was painted while thinking of Millet praying while her parents were alive.

Millet's parents were people of good faith. In particular, my father was always grateful for conducting a choir in a rural church. The parents Millet saw were always on time to finish farming in the fields. When the church bell rang in the evening, it was a daily routine for the two of us to stop working and pray together. “God, thank you for allowing me to work with my beloved wife in a healthy body and with a happy heart today as well.” My wife also prayed, "Thank you for giving me the best and most faithful farmer in the world as my husband so that we can always work together."

Millet, who grew up watching this, later left a picture of the beautiful and peaceful rural scene and the parents' prayer of thanksgiving melted in it without missing a single day, and it became a picture expressing gratitude under the title “Or”.

Everyone, I want to say, “Gratitude is heredity.” What is heredity? Inheritance is a phenomenon in which traits such as character, constitution, and appearance of ancestors or parents are passed on to offspring. So, parents and children are bound to resemble each other at least in some way. There is a saying that parents sometimes say while thinking about their children who are heartbroken. What is it? “Who the hell does that kid look like!” But, who would he look like? No matter what anyone says, this is clear enough.

But that's it. There is no parent in this world who wants to inherit good things from their children and not want to pass on bad things to their children. Every parent wants to be born with a healthy body, a healthy mind and a calm personality. It doesn't work out the way you want it to, but you probably want to pass on something really good, good, and good.

The thing that causes this thing to be called heredity is called a gene. Good genes make up good inheritance. That is why there is a so-called “prenatal education”. Pregnant mothers avoid unhealthy foods, try not to have bad thoughts, and think about good food, good thoughts, and mental health. The idea is to create and pass on good genes.

Now, by the way, we have the genetics we really need today. It is a beautiful inheritance of faith, and it is really necessary. It means that we need a beautiful inheritance of faith that we want to pass down to our children and descendants.

By the way, everyone, we have genes that are necessary for the inheritance of the most beautiful faith. There may be many things, but above all, I don't think it's the gene called gratitude. To have children who learn to be grateful from grateful parents and who learn to be grateful from grateful parents. The gene of gratitude, this is essential for the family of believers.

[Aristotle] said, “If there is one part of the human heart that ages the most, it is the heart of gratitude.” Usually, when a person grows old, it also means that he becomes insensitive to everything. Skin that was so firm when you were young becomes thick and wrinkled as you age. So the senses are dulled. Not only that. Emotions have dried up, so I am not easily moved. Getting old is such a sad thing.

These days, many people suffer from adult diseases. However, most adult diseases are said to be caused by damage to blood vessels. Diabetes, high blood pressure, arteriosclerosis, gout... All are diseases caused by blockage of blood vessels. However, there are two ways to prevent blockage of blood vessels. One way is to exercise a lot so you don't lose muscle. If the muscles are elastic, the blood flow will be smoother. Another way is to activate the brain. All human activities are controlled by the brain, and the functions of the immune system are also controlled by the commands of the brain. And to activate your brain, you have to think positively. When you think negatively about everything, wrap your head around it, and indulge in worry, your brain stops producing morphine. Doctors say that if a person is healthy and mentally well taken care of, he or she can live to be 120-130 years old. But the problem of the soul, the problem of eternal life, is much more important than this. A life of faith without gratitude is a kind of arteriosclerosis. It is a story that if thanksgiving is blocked, it will lead to a serious disease of faith.

As [Aristotle] said, a grateful heart easily ages and is prone to insensitivity. What if gratitude is sick? At first, I am grateful, moved, and even shed tears, but as time goes on, I develop a sense of insensitivity to gratitude and it becomes dull. Even on the days where we should be thankful, we go on to say that. I was grateful last year, but not this year. Maybe next year will be even more numb. This is gratitude insensitivity. Gratitude is aging and disease is entering.

So today, we have to think about how we can live a life of gratitude forever without suffering from ingratitude while having the good gene of gratitude. We learn that method from David, who wrote the psalm today. If we were to express David's gratitude in one word, like our motto.

A person experiences a lot of things in life, and if you know that, these experiences play the role of infinite capital at every moment in life. What's more, the experiences of being young make you take your life more seriously as you get older. That's why it's been said since ancient times, "You're young and you have to work hard." It is said that there is no need to go through hardship, but in hindsight, the experience I had when I bought it is not so precious. David had such an experience, and David is grateful as he looks back on those experiences, and is grateful for today standing through those experiences, believing that there are many things to be grateful for in the future, and he is grateful overall.

David had many experiences in his life. Above all, we testify of the greatness of God through deep religious experience. In the process of fighting Goliath, he experienced God's power realistically, gained confidence from that work, and experienced the recognition of God's divine authority at work in the depths. He also had the painful experiences of life. Through the discord and conflict he experienced in his relationship with Saul, he experiences great pain. You don't know how many tears David shed. And during the process, he thoroughly experienced the existential. Not only this personal life experience, but today, considering the fall of Israel from the Exodus to the Babylonian captivity, these people deserve punishment, but we are grateful for the mercy of God who is patient and loving. In a nutshell, I am grateful for everything.

Dear saints, who came before God on Thanksgiving Day today!

Above all, we already have the gene of gratitude. Please remember that you can be thankful for this alone, and that I am a being that can mature enough before God. And if we were grateful for the past, we are grateful for today, and tomorrow will also be overflowing with things to be thankful for.
