David in today's text said that he did not boast of his throne and that he did not boast of many heroic battles, but that his only wish is to live with the Lord in front of him. Because I know this is a real blessing. I hope that this wish of David will become a true wish for you and me. No matter what happens, I hope you live with God in front of you.
How do you put God in front of you?
Everything is God-centered.
It means to live with God always in your heart, at the center of your family. A family that lives centered on God is a family that puts all plans and purposes in God.
The seat of God is the seat of the right hand.
Where is God? The right hand is the way of life, the unshakable way, the narrow way, the way of justice, and the way of truth. Believers should always live with the conviction that God is at the right hand.
If you live with God in front of you...
The heart is happy and the glory is also happy.
Christians must rejoice in the spirit. The body rejoices when it eats well, rests well, and dresses well. But our spirits are created to rejoice in the presence of the Lord. In the family of true saints, there must be something that delights in God.
My body also dwells safely.
If you live with God in front of you, He will give you blessings in life. The Lord is the source of all blessings. If you stand before the Lord and live, the Lord will exalt you and guide you.
I don't throw my soul into hell.
After death, an afterlife awaits. If you put the things of the world first and live without the Lord, there is only hell. However, if you live with the Lord, He will lead you to heaven. The biggest loser in the world is being dumped into hell.
You will not let it rot.
Rotting is dirty. Rotting is a scary thing. To rot is to perish. There will come a day when everything in the world will surely rot. Only God has eternal life that is incorruptible.
There is eternal joy.
It is not a pleasure to taste for a moment in the world. Even in a difficult world, if you live with God in the center of your heart, He will give you eternal joy. I hope that your life will be filled with eternal joy as you live with God in front of you, rather than a momentary laughter as the wind blows.
