Title The Healing Lord (Luke 5:17)

Contents

In the past and now, disease is like a robber who terrifies us and makes us give up all we have, without using a weapon.

It is said that Koreans in their 40s are called "Cheks." It means that you keep checking your health. So, there are not just one or two of all kinds of health equipment and health supplements in every house. At this point, it seems that it is not a lie to say that more than 50% of vitamins produced in the United States are consumed by Koreans. Why are people becoming like this? It is because of worry and anxiety about the future. Especially because of the fear of disease.

The total number of verses in the Gospels that record the life of Jesus Christ is 3,781 verses, of which 468 verses (12%) are recorded about the healing miracles of Jesus. It occupies a significant portion in terms of quantity, and it occupies a central part in the work of Jesus Christ. The healing miracles of Jesus over 41 times are appearing in Matthew 25 times, Mark 18 times, Luke 24 times, and John 5 times each.

In today's text, he said, "The Lord's power to heal was with him" (verse 17). These words give us great strength and hope, living in a world with many diseases. It is no exaggeration to say that all people in the world are sick.

According to some reports, 90% of modern people report that they are sick. We don't know how much to trust the report, but one thing we do know is that many people living today are ill. The number of mental illnesses as well as physical diseases caused by pollution or various kinds of mental stress is a very serious problem. There are probably more people with some discomfort than those who are healthy among you. Human beings are afflicted with disease individually or collectively.

With the rapid development of modern civilization and science, life has become more convenient in many ways, and physical health and lifespan have improved, but mental confusion and incurable diseases are increasing. Korea has also brought about many changes in our social structure and the structure of consciousness through the process of economic development and industrialization over the past 20 years. Diseases of city dwellers and workers are increasing, and various crime and divorce rates are increasing due to the collapse of traditional values.

The number of hospitals keeps increasing, but the number of sick people is not decreasing. It is telling us that we cannot completely cure the disease by relying on hospitals alone. You have to depend on the Lord who heals you.

1. Human beings are suffering from physical ailments.

Today, there are many people who distrust faith healing and the healing of the Holy Spirit and look down on it. However, the disease of 2,000 years ago and the disease of today are the same disease, and the situation of humans suffering from it is the same. The Lord who healed the sick at that time is the same Lord who is still alive today. Human beings are a human being, both spiritually and physically, and spiritual sickness inflicts pain on humans, but physical sickness also causes pain. Also, God does not only love our souls, but He also loves our bodies. God sent His Son, Jesus Christ, into this world to perform healing work for the sick and to save them from their suffering. The salvation of the body cannot be deferred by the salvation of the soul, and it is neither distinct nor in conflict with one another.

Therefore, we should bring the sickness we are living with to the Lord and ask for it. The Lord has the power to heal. The Comforter is the Holy Spirit who heals. Please rely on the power of the Holy Spirit.

2. Humans have a mental illness.

Jesus says, "Do not be afraid" and "Peace be with you." And paradoxically, He said, "Blessed are those who mourn." Jesus saw all human beings as sick people and broken hearts. Bad emotions such as jealousy, fear, anxiety, anger, frustration, regret, unforgiveness, bitterness, and self-centeredness are factors that cause disease to enter. Anxiety in the soul dries up the bones. It is said that when the mind of worry enters, the disease begins. The reason bad emotions cause disease is because the mind has a great impact on the body.

One day, I saw the following article in the Dong-A Ilbo. ?ven if there is no abnormality in the cardiovascular system, it is the first study in Korea that there is a possibility that the heart may stop and die if a ?wabyeong??occurs due to severe stress. "We presented 20 cases of stress cardiomyopathy patients with similar symptoms such as decreased heart function and chest pain at the recent Korean Circulatory Association. Stress is the cause of sudden death." I am writing this article

However, when the disease of the heart is healed by the power of the Lord, self-confidence in everything, students become clearer, housewives become cheerful and their families become happy, and entrepreneurs can succeed in business with courage and perseverance. Above all, the growth of faith is greatly punished. If there is a disease of the heart, the growth of faith and spiritual growth do not occur.

May you heal your heart through the generosity of Jesus Christ.

3. There is a disease hidden deep within us

There are worlds that are visible to humans or that humans can feel, but there are also worlds that are not. So completely unexpected things can happen. That's because there is a big difference between the conscious and the unconscious, like the revealed and hidden parts of an iceberg. Stimuli received at a young age appear outward as we get older and cause mental illness. This cannot be solved by human power. Because it is a disease that is hidden too deep. Only the Lord who exists in the deepest part of man and sets him free can cure the disease that lurks in the depths of man. We believe that Jesus heals even the wounds that are hidden in our depths, even though we do not see it on the outside.

4. Humans also have spiritual diseases.

Those who live without knowing God have such ugly spiritual diseases that are possessed by the evil devil, Satan, and demons. People who do things that human beings cannot do have an evil spirit at work in them that controls and controls them. The evil devil and Satan made him do that. Therefore, we must not hate people, but help them to be filled with the Spirit of Jesus Christ so that they can drive out the evil devil and Satan in them. And even those who believe have spiritual diseases such as heresy and idolatry. Some believers are religiously proud. There can be only spiritual pride. They say they believe, but they also have false beliefs. They say it is for the Lord, but there are people who use the church and use God. These Christians are people who suffer from spiritual diseases.

The Lord came to destroy the works of the devil. And he came to free us from spiritual diseases. We believe that the truth sets us free from spiritual diseases.

Sickness is a terrifying foe of man that makes a person spiritually, physically, economically, socially and socially exhausted and isolated. The Lord came to overcome human enemies. Therefore, I hope that we will be able to rely on the Lord and overcome the enemy of disease. I hope that you will overcome the disease and live by the authority of the name of Jesus Christ.
