Title The importance of filial piety
1. Filial piety is the basis of all morals
A person who respects and filializes their parents is a good citizen, a good office worker, and knows that they cannot be a bad person. So, if we divide the Ten Commandments into two, we can divide them into two commandments, and the first commandment among the great commandments is, “Honor your father and mother, and you will live a long time in the land that your God is giving you.” That is, He said before the commandments, "You shall not murder," "You shall not commit adultery," and "You shall not steal." In fact, a person who respects and filializes his parents cannot commit the crime of murder, stealing, or adultery. Filial filial piety is the foundation of all morals and is the basis. The idea of filial piety to parents is gradually disappearing, and I believe that the cause of filial piety is gradually disappearing, such as a terrible incident of poisoning her husband and trying to get insurance money, or a tragedy in which a master who graduated from a first-class university kills his disciple. I believe that the cause can be found.
I believe that the spirit of filial piety must be revived to make this world a more polite and livable world. In today's text 30:17, He even said, "The eyes of those who mock their fathers and do not want to obey their mothers will be plucked by ravens of the valley, and eagles will eat them."
2. Filial piety is the basis of all order
God is a God of authority and order. Therefore, God wants this world to be a world of order. To create an orderly world, you must first become a person who can obey and honor your parents.
Susanna, the mother of John Wesley, said, From the age of two, children should teach their parents how to break their stubbornness and obey them. He also said that he would not obey.
God hates ignoring authority, challenging it, and destroying order. Romans 13:1-2 says, "Let every one be subject to the authorities that are above him. There is no authority but from God, and all authority is ordained of God. Therefore whoever resists authority is against the command of God. Those who resist will bring their own judgment.”
We can receive God's blessings when we know that the authority of the family, the authority of the state, and the authority of the church are all established by God and obey. Therefore, obeying and respecting parents is the basis of all order in this world.
3. It is a commandment with a promise of blessing.
All of the other commandments among the Ten Commandments say, "You shall not...", but in these 5 commandments, the promise of blessing is attached: "Honor your father and mother, and you may live long in the land that your God has given you." Ephesians 6:1-2 "Children, obey your parents in the Lord. For this is right. Honor your father and mother. This is the first commandment with a promise, that it may go well with you, and that you may live long on the earth." It has been said since ancient times that those who honor their parents will be blessed, and those who are filial will suffer endlessly. It is said that all loyal servants and great people come from families of filial piety. Therefore, filial piety is important.
4. It is because the grace of parents is great.
What kind of grace, no matter what kind of grace, can there be a greater grace in the human world than the grace and love that gave birth to, nurtured, and took care of my life? Those who do not know how to honor their parents are the greatest ingratitude, and such a person will be ungrateful in other matters.
Parents' hearts sting like an arrow is stabbed in the chest at the sound of their children's coughing, and even just a little bit of heat in the head makes their hearts flutter and startled. I often think quietly.
In this world, there is nothing greater than the benevolence of parents. Considering these kind of parental benevolence, how can filial piety not be important, and how can filial piety change with the passage of time? The love that can most closely be compared with God's unconditional agape love is parental love.
This happened right after the 6/25 Incident. The husband left the military and his wife gave birth to a baby on her own. When the baby was born, there was no food to eat and no clothes to wrap the baby in. So, it was the eve of Christmas, and I had to visit the American missionary's house. The labor was just coming, but the day was getting dark. After a while, I passed over the bridge, and I felt like I was about to give birth to a baby, so I went down under the bridge where no one could see me and gave birth to my baby. So this mother took off her baby and wrapped it in her underwear and wrapped her in her outerwear, and the mother froze to death naked.
The next morning, a missionary was driving a jeep to give a gift to the needy, but the bridge broke down. There was a breakdown and I got out of the car and found that the gasoline had run out. At that moment, I heard a baby cry from under the bridge and looked down to see that the mother was frozen to death and the baby was wrapped in her clothes and hugged by the mother. So the missionary brought the baby home and raised him.
When the child grew up and was about 10 years old, the missionary asked him to tell us about his mother. So, this missionary went to the grave of his mother and told him everything about his mother. After hearing the story, the son was so moved that he sobbed and took off all his clothes, even his underwear, and covered his mother's grave, saying, "Mother, how cold must you have been because you were giving birth to me?" I sobbed and cried. The mother died in her place because she loved her child. Such love is a mother's love.
Isn't there a song about Mother's grace in our country's nursery rhymes?
1. They say it's a high and high sky, but I have another high thing. Mother's grace who gave birth and raised me seems higher than the blue sky.
2. They say that the sea is wide and wide, but I have one more thing that is wide. Mother's grace who says to be a human being, the blue sea seems wider than that.
3. A mother's love that cannot be followed by even the mountains or the sea. For her holy love, I will give thanks before the Lord every day. Filial filial piety is an important ethical and ideology. Even if the times change, this truth does not change either.
Often, parents hear their children say, "I don't want my children to do well. You guys live well. I went to the nursing home and you don't take care of it." But I think that education is absolutely wrong. I'm not sure if I should teach them to do filial piety, but why do they say that when they hear children? They teach that filial piety must be done, and filial piety must be followed. Why do parents say that? That's wrong. It is what you believe and what you say. You have to have expectations and hopes for the reality to appear. And in order to teach according to the Word of God, we must teach it that way. Let us believe that we need to teach them to respect their parents.
Dear saints, Filial piety is the basis of all morals, the basis of order, and a commandment with a promise of blessing. In addition, since the grace of parents is great, I pray that all of our members will enjoy a blessed life by properly realizing and practicing the importance of filial piety. - Amen
