Title The Master of Faith (Hebrews 12:2)
Contents Just as a runner runs while looking at a goal in a race, even if we look at something and run and eventually achieve it, unless it gives true value to life, we cannot achieve eternal satisfaction. Then, what is the goal that gives us the true value that we should look at? In the Bible, Hebrews 12:2, it says [look to Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith]. Because Jesus is the source of our eternal life, our eternal hope, and our eternal joy, peace, and satisfaction, the Bible tells us to look to Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith.
[Lord of Faith] is recorded as (the founder of our faith) in the English Bible. Jesus is the one who gives us faith. We did not have faith in ourselves, confess Jesus as our Savior and call God our Father, but Jesus gave us faith. Not only that, Jesus perfects our faith. Jesus gives us faith and completes that faith to the end.
Who is the Jesus we will look at? He endured the sufferings of the cross for the joy that was set before him. The joy of Jesus is that he became King of kings and Lord of lords through his resurrection, and saved all mankind from the hand of Satan, became the firstborn among many brothers and heirs of the universe, became the bridegroom of the church, and entered the new heavens and heavens. It was to become the master of the new earth. Jesus persevered in this hope.
Even today's saints face shame and hardship at times. But since the joy of Jesus becomes our joy, we can overcome it by looking at Jesus. We must endure all the suffering that comes to us as Jesus endured the cross until the day of glory and joy that we will receive in heaven.
Jesus is the master of faith. By looking at Jesus, we gain faith and receive the grace that is the result of that faith. That is why we must always look to Jesus and live. Because there is no hope for anything other than looking to Jesus.
Prayer: Dear God, help us to live by faith, looking only to Jesus Christ in these turbulent times. I pray in the name of Jesus. Amen.
