Title: Mission is a plus.

Bible: Exodus 3:1-10

Starting Point of the Word>>

Today, this time, I would like to share the sermon with the title “Mission is a plus” through the words of the text.

Today's text is a verse we know all too well.

Moses was a leader who led the Israelites out of Egypt after 400 years of slavery at the age of 80 according to God's command.

When he was 40, he fled Egypt and lived in the wilderness of Midian for 40 years, tending sheep.

He is 80 years old and now his hair is gray and it is time to organize his life.

But God found him and called him.

One day while shepherding the sheep, a thorn bush caught fire.

The strange thing was that the fire was lit but not extinguished.

Moses thought strangely and approached him.

God appeared in the flames.

He called Moses and gave him a dream to lead the Israelites to Canaan.

That is, God called him and gave him a mission.

The command to lead 2 million people to a shepherd who had been tending sheep for 40 years was a tremendous mission command.

However, this time Moses rejected God's mission five times.

The first refusal is in Exodus 3:11,

“Moses said to God, “Who am I that I should go to Pharaoh and bring the children of Israel out of Egypt?”

In the second refusal 3:13,

“Moses said to God, “If I go to the children of Israel and say, ‘The God your father has sent me to you,’ they will ask me, ‘What is his name?

The third refusal is in 4:1,

“Moses answered and said, “But they do not believe me, nor listen to me, and say, The Lord has not appeared to you.”

The fourth refusal is the words of 4:10,

“Moses said to the LORD, “O Lord, I am a speechless man by nature, even after you have commanded your servant.

The fifth refusal is the words of 4:13,

“Moses said, “O Lord, send someone who can send.”

Saying that, you reject God's mission.

After Moses refused five times, God was angry.

In Exodus 4:14, we read,

“The Lord was angry with Moses and said,

To refuse when God entrusts you with a mission is pride.

God is pleased with the attitude of obeying God's commands and doing our best, even though we are lacking and have no ability.

When God gives us a mission, He adds other graces to us, and if we look at Moses, we can discover the grace of God better.

Go to Word>>

Who is the God who makes the mission a plus today?

First, God plants dreams and visions before entrusting them with a mission.

God does not entrust a person with a mission due to external conditions or circumstances, but first shows the dream and sets him up as a missionary through the person who has the dream and vision in faith.

When God used Abraham, he showed him a dream that he would give him as many descendants as the stars in the sky and the grains of sand in the sea.

Even when God called Paul, he gave him a dream in which Gentiles would return to God by Paul.

Even though God appeared to Moses while shepherding the sheep, God gave it to him from a dream.

If we look at verse 10,

“Now I will send you to Pharaoh to bring you my people, the children of Israel, out of Egypt.”

When God wants to use a person, He gives him a dream.

So Paul said through the words of Philippians 2:13,

“It is God who works in you, to will and to do for his good pleasure.”

Said.

When God calls people, He gives them from dreams.

It is to give the missionary the dream of adding mission to mission as a gift.

Second, when God gives a mission, He adds people.

In Exodus 4:10, we read,

“Moses said to the LORD, “O Lord, I am a speechless man by nature, even after you have commanded your servant, for I am a stiff-mouthed and dull tongue.”

Moses made the excuse that he could not work because his mouth was dull when God called.

At this time, God said:

The words of Exodus 4:14,

“The LORD was angry with Moses and said, “Is not your brother Aaron the Levite?

You did.

When God gives a mission, He always assigns a co-worker to work together to accomplish the mission.

Because work always requires a co-worker.

To accomplish God's work, God allows us to meet people we never expected.

Paul went to Philippi to preach unconditionally.

But there, I met Lydia.

A church in Philippi was planted in her home.

When God entrusts a mission, He always assigns people as well.

The mission God has given must be fulfilled.

Third, when God gives a mission, He adds power.

When God gives us a mission, He also gives us the power so that we can carry out the mission.

Moses was a shepherd with sheep. When God told Moses to throw his staff, it became a serpent.

When the snake was caught, it became a staff again.

When I put my hand in my arms and took it out, it became a leper hand.

When I put it back in my arms and took it out, it became a healthy hand.

Then God said that he would perform a miracle through the staff.

Moses became a man with the power to perform 14 miracles with that staff.

God gives power to those who are willing to do it.

We are God's servants.

God's servants are God's missionaries.

God has already given the power of God's missionaries to do God's work.

If you believe, the history of faith will appear.

Fourth, when God gives a mission, He adds the blessing of companionship.

When God chooses God's people to do work, He is always with them.

When God calls Moses and gives him a mission, he says through the words of Exodus 3:12:

“I will surely be with you, said God, and after you have brought the people out of Egypt, you will serve God on this mountain, and this is the proof that I sent you.”

God gave Moses a sure promise, “I will certainly be with you.”

Looking at the words of Matthew 28:10, Jesus said this as he ascended into heaven.

“Teach them to observe all that I have commanded you. Behold, I am with you always, even to the end of the world.”

Moses says in Deuteronomy 4:7:

“What nation is near to his god as the LORD our God is near to us whenever we pray to him?”

Please realize that the blessing that God gives you is the greatest blessing.

At the end of the speech>>

Today, God is calling us to entrust us with a mission.

The mission God gives us is a plus in our lives.

When He gives us a mission, He always gives us the corridor of companionship.

Considering today's Word, we must become believers and depend on God, who gives us a mission but makes it a plus.

First, when God gives a mission, he gives it a dream.

Next, He gives people and adds power.

And when God gives a mission, he adds the blessing of companionship.

The God who calls us today expects us to become servants of faith who will fulfill our mission.

In the name of the Lord, I pray that I and all of our members will respond immediately to God's call and become spiritual leaders of faith who, like Moses, lead this age and generation.
