Title The Order of the Spirit

Contents

The content of the text is 2 Corinthians 3:1-11.

People are very interested in position, title, title, honor, and position. So, in this society we live in, there is a president (chairman), a vice president, a secretary, and executives in an innumerable number of meetings. Although the purpose is different from the world, there are many organizations within the church. Last week, the 27th General Assembly Legislative Assembly of the Korean Methodist Church was held for three days. In the General Assembly, there are 16 committees including the Administrative Assembly and the Missionary Work Research Committee, and the Legislative Assembly including the Book of Discipline Revision Committee, which has 15 committees. These committees should be creative gatherings, some committees are popular and some are not, depending on your interest.

When you become a powerful committee chair, you only want to enjoy power, and you only want to get a bowl of rice, you try to suppress others, and you use tricks to keep your seat. We must not forget that whatever kind of office God has given us, whether in society or in the church, it is beneficial to all and we have the opportunity to serve and serve through meetings. The original mission is fulfilled by the person to whom the position is given, and only then can the position become like an office, and the position becomes valuable.

As with society, the church must not forget the attitude of serving and serving with responsibility as much as the rights of those who hold more offices. Depending on the role of the person in the position, society and gatherings can be beautiful and productive.

In the church, depending on the role of the person holding the office, the status of the church, mission, and class meetings may rise or fall.

In our church, there are the positions of elder, priest, and deacon, and mission, education, finance, management, social service, culture, sports, men's mission, women's mission, youth mission, MYF, church school necessary for the operation of the organization. of educational institutions. In addition, there are vehicle committee members, mutual aid members, beautification committee members, choirs, hymns, evangelism groups, and prayer groups, and there are many people who work really hard in the fellowship room.

The position of that position is not a position to give strength to the neck, a position to wield power, a position to ignore and oppress anyone, but rather to serve, serve, humble, and consider others more than myself, and for God rather than myself, and for the church. I believe it is a place where you are dedicated to. Hallelujah! When there are many such people, the church is warm and gracious, and when there are few such people, the church becomes lonely, grace disappears, and the creaking noise becomes louder.

In order for us to carry out our duties well, the body must die and the spirit must live.

John 6:63 “It is the Spirit that gives life; the flesh is of no avail. The words I have spoken to you are spirit and are life.”

Why is the church in trouble and the object of condemnation from society? Because the spirit is dead and the body is alive. It was because there was no prayer and only emotions were lived. That's why we get bloody, we get hurt, we fight, we get tested. This is because there is no obedience to the Word and there is pride in knowledge. If this is the case, it is obvious. My stubbornness, my greed, my face, my position, my argument, and my thoughts raise their heads. So that's the problem. However, when the body dies and the spirit lives, it is different because the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of God, works in me. The Lord is more precious than my face, knowledge, happiness, and office, mission, dedication, and humility are more precious, and the mission, class, and church to which I belong are more precious.

Verses 6-9 of the main text divide the ministry into two. One is the ministry of the mystery (verse 7), and the other is the ministry of the spirit (verse 8). The ceremonial office is the office that Moses received (Old Testament - God gave him through an angel), and the spiritual office is the office the saints received (New Testament - God gave Jesus Christ as his only begotten Son). The ceremonial ministry was written on stone (the Ten Commandments on the two tablets of stone), and the spiritual ministry was engraved on the heart (faith). The office of doubt is the ministry of condemnation the ministry that will pass away, and the ministry of the Spirit is the ministry of righteousness the ministry that will continue. Nevertheless, the questionable position that Moses received was rare, so people could not look directly at Moses. If so, how valuable is the ministry of the Spirit?

A person whose body is dead and is alive in spirit is a person who is not an elder, a priest, or a deacon, but has received the ministry of the Spirit. He is the only one who has a job. I refer to this as a “gauntlet”. There should be no strife in the church. There must be only the offices of service, service, and devotion, and those of saving life, being an example, and being virtuous. If a person living in the flesh and dead in the spirit wields the church office, that office is not the office of the spirit or the holy person, but an office that puts the church to the test, becomes an obstacle to the growth of the church, and causes problems among members. There is not. Such an office in the flesh (defeat) is nothing more than a place that makes you or others unhappy. Look at the early church. As the Spirit is invigorated by the fullness of the Holy Spirit, cowards become courageous, those who were not able to evangelize become evangelists, those who do not learn become literate, donate money to build the church with devotion and loyalty. The ministry will move from the ministry of the flesh to the ministry of the spirit.

Dear saints, Let's take the office of the Spirit. Therefore, I pray in the name of the Lord that the church will be established securely, the kingdom of the Lord will be expanded, and only God will be glorified through all the members of the Shepherd Church who have the office of the Spirit.
