Title The pure in heart (Matthew 05:8)

Content Today we would like to hear another message from the Sermon on the Mount.

Those words are “the blessing of the pure in heart.”

Today the Lord speaks.

“(Matthew 5:8) Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.”

Christians have a pure heart.

Christians are blessed because they have a pure heart.

Dear saints,

do you have a pure heart

So, who is the pure in heart?

First, a person with a pure heart is a person who repents daily.

A pure heart is the heart of a repentant person.

Repentance is confession of one's sins.

It is a matter of washing and purifying the mind.

It is to confess your dirty heart to God and be washed away.

The apostle John says:

(1 John 1:9) If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

According to the apostle John, when we repent, we receive two kinds of grace.

First, you receive forgiveness of sins.

“(1 John 1:9a) If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins”

No matter how great our sins are, repentance gives us forgiveness.

Because that is the promise of God.

The only and surest way for us to be forgiven of our sins is through repentance.

And you get clean.

“(1 John 1:9b) He will cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Sin pollutes us.

Sin corrupts us.

However, if you repent, you will be cleansed from the pollution of your sins.

Then it becomes more and more holy. is becoming sanctified.

So repentance cleanses us. Sanctify us.

It is God's instrument to purify our hearts.

Saints!

Do you wish to have a pure heart

Do you want to live with a clean heart?

Then repent.

Confess your sins to God every day.

Don't let it be a formal confession.

Sincerely repent and truly confess your sins.

Confess the sinfulness of your heart.

Confess your heart's greed and evil desires.

Confess your hatred and envy.

Confess your selfishness and pride.

Stop blaming and criticizing others.

Always confess and confess the sinfulness of your heart.

Then you will have a pure heart every day.

I will live with a pure heart.

Because repentance is a spiritual bath that removes the dirt of sin from our hearts.

A Jewish teacher, a rabbi, was walking away, humming with a happy face.

The person who saw this asked, "Did you go there with such a happy expression because of something good happened? Did you make a lot of money or did you get a lot of fame?"

That's a very good thing. follow me

The rabbi took the man to the [bathroom].

And he said:

What could be better than washing one's self? The Romans wash statues and recall the past, but that is meaningless. I should wash [I] rather than a statue.”

Saints!

We must wash ourselves.

Because the pure in heart is not the one who sees the sins of others, but the one who sees their own sins.

It is because he is a person who repents himself rather than expecting others to repent.

Dear saints,

Do you want to be a pure-hearted person, a pure-hearted person?

If so, repent first.

For only a repentant soul can attain purity.

In the Old Testament, there are people who are cleansed through repentance.

Author of Psalm 51. David.

He cries out like this.

(Psalm 51:5) I was born in iniquity, and my mother conceived me in sin. (Psalm 51:6) You desire truth in the heart, and you will make known wisdom in me (Psalm 51:7) Purify me with hyssop. Wash me, and I will be whiter than snow (Psalm 51:8) Let me hear joy and gladness, and rejoice in the bones you have broken (Psalm 51:9) Turn your face from my sins. Blot me out of all my iniquities (Psalm 51:10) Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew in me an upright spirit.

He knew deeply his wickedness.

I knew the depth of my sinful nature.

So he confesses that his origins are sinful.

“(Psalm 51:5) I was born in iniquity; in sin my mother conceived me.”

These words are not accusations against one's mother.

It is a cry that confesses that he is a sinner.

David was an adulterer and a murderer.

He abused his subordinate's wife by using his royal power to molest him.

And he ordered his men to be killed on the battlefield.

Eventually, this was revealed.

He ran to God that way.

I cried and cried in the temple of the Lord.

I was heartbroken and repented.

He condemned his roots.

He confessed his sinfulness.

And saved it.

(Psalm 51:10) Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew in me an upright spirit.

David knew he was a good king.

He thought he still had a good seed.

But after the Bathsheba incident, he discovered his roots.

The fact that he was also an insignificant sinner...

That it was a sinner at the root, and that it was an unavoidable mass of sin...

So he cries out to God and repents.

I beg you to wash away this sin and give me a pure heart and an honest spirit.

(Psalm 51:7) Cleanse me with hyssop, and I will be clean; Wash me, and I will be whiter than snow (Psalm 51:8) Let me hear joyful and joyful sounds, that I may rejoice in the bones you have broken (Psalm 51:8) 9) Turn Your face from my sins and blot out all my iniquities (Psalm 51:10) Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew in me a right spirit.

Saints!

Aren't we usually like David?

“I have nothing to repent of…”

“Why am I such a sinner?”

But God sees our hearts.

He sees the motives of our hearts.

And he knows the wickedness of our hearts.

So we must be amazed and repent.

We must repent for this black heart that is in us.

We need to repent because of this sinful nature that is deeply ingrained in us.

So, we need to save like David.

“(Psalm 51:10) Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew in me an upright spirit.”

Dear saints,

why do i need to repent

Because a pure heart is the heart of a repentant person.

Second, a person with a pure heart is “a person with a pure heart.”

A pure heart means one heart toward God.

It is seeking the Lord with one heart.

This one mind is the opposite of two minds.

It is only to seek God and seek Him with a pure heart.

The apostle James speaks of the error of two hearts:

(James 1:8) He is a double-minded, undecided in all things.

(James 4:8) Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.

Therefore, a pure heart is a heart that looks to God with a simple and pure heart.

It is a heart that seeks the Lord unselfishly.

This is when Jesus calls his disciples.

Peter and Andrew Philip were called to be disciples of Jesus.

Among them, Philip went to introduce Jesus to his friend Nathanael.

And he said:

(John 1:45) Philip found Nathanael and said, "We have found the one whom Moses wrote in the law, and the prophets wrote, Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph."

Then Nathanael responds bluntly.

(John 1:46) Nathanael said, Can anything good come out of Nazareth?

Actually, Nathanael is right.

Messiah will come from Bethlehem, not from Nazareth.

So what does Nazareth have to do with the Messiah?

that nothing good can come out of Nazareth.

But Philip did not bow down and spoke.

Philip said, Come and see.

Nathanael was led by Philip to go to Jesus.

Jesus saw Nathanael coming with Philip.

And you said:

(John 1:47) When Jesus saw Nathanael coming to him, he said to him, “Behold, this is a true Israelite, and there is no deceit in him.”

Nathanael's heart was pure.

He was a pure heart, one-hearted person, not two.

He was only waiting for the kingdom of God with a pure heart.

He had sought God with a pure heart.

He did not seek God to satisfy his greed.

He was not waiting for the Messiah for self-satisfaction and self-success.

However, some people seek God to satisfy their greed.

He regards God as a fairy of a lamp that satisfies his greed.

These people call on God to win and receive from God.

As if rubbing Aladdin's lamp, he calls on God according to his needs.

And some people covet the honor of the church.

So, what kind of fighting do you like?

I am loyal to this battle.

They also donate and consider the favor of the church members.

So I look forward to voting for you.

But this is not the right thing to do.

Our God is not such a God.

Our God is not a slave to the desires of men.

Rather, God frees us from the slavery of desire.

He is the one who frees us from our greed and from our selfishness.

He frees us from our lust for glory.

He gives us freedom from our bathing.

He gives us freedom from our evil lusts.

And He is the One who gives us a pure heart.

God gives us a pure heart.

And you are looking for those hearts.

So you are looking for a pure heart. You are looking for a pure heart.

Saints!

God sees our hearts.

God sees the motives of our hearts.

No matter how we make up our outward appearances and make lengthy requests, God sees our hearts.

If we covet honor by pretending to be loyal, God will know it all.

Because God looks at our heart.

So the Old Testament poet sings:

(Psalm 24:3) Who will come up on the mountain of the LORD, and who will stand in his holy place? (Psalm 24:4) He who has clean hands and a pure heart, who does not set his mind in vain, and does not swear falsely. (Psalm 24:5) He will receive blessing from the Lord, and righteousness from the God of salvation. (Psalm 24:6) These are the people who seek the Lord, those who seek the face of the God of Jacob (Selah)

Dear saints,

A pure heart is one who seeks God with one heart.

A person who seeks the face of God with a pure motive and a pure heart.

A person who is pure in heart does not call on God with vain greed.

They do not try to please people with false gestures.

Dear saints,

What kind of person is pure in heart

A person who repents of his sins.

And those who seek God with a pure heart.

Today, I pray that all of you will become the owners of such a pure heart.

axis

The LORD bless you and keep you,

May the LORD shine upon you with his face and be gracious to you.

May the LORD turn his face toward you, and give you peace (Numbers 6:24-26).

Now, may the work of filling us with the boundless grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the great and eternal love of our Heavenly Father, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit, deeply repent daily of the sinfulness and wickedness of our hearts, and call upon the Lord with a pure and simple heart. On the hearts of all the churches and all the saints who I promise to be with you from now on and forever.

Amen.
