Title The Religion of Praise (Colossians 03:16)
1. The Importance of Music The Reformer Luther said the following about the importance of music. “Music is God's superior gift and second only to theology. I will not surrender my little knowledge of music, no matter how high a pay may be. And young people should learn more about the art of music. Because music makes great and skilled people. And those who despise music do not look good to me. Music is not a gift from men, but a gift and a gift from God. Music casts out demons and entertains people. Man forgets anger, injustice, pride, and all other evil things through music. I put music after theology. Music is God's greatest gift. Music is the best art. The singer is neither distressed nor sad. All your worries are forgotten in the music.”
3. What does the praise of our congregation mean?
(1) Praise brings the victory of faith. Hymns are also reformers of our faith.
(2) Hymns bring joy to our gloomy hearts.
(3) Hymns raise new hope in sorrow and despair. It awakens the sleeping soul.
(4) Hymns bring Christians' thanksgiving and prayers to God. When we give our praise to God, the prayer of praise goes up to God together with the praises of the heavenly hosts and angels before the throne of God. In the above we have considered the influence of hymns on our spiritual life. I hope that you will grow up beautifully by consuming hymns that are nutrients for your life of faith.
