Title The Spiritual Church? / Joshua 2:15-24
What is the spiritual church? / Joshua 2:15-24
Introduction
Land 1: The spiritual church is on the wall.
The spiritual church is not under the mountain, but on the mountain (verse 15). Jesus compared the saints to the salt and light of the earth (Matthew 5:14-15). And this light says that the city on the mountain cannot hide it. He says that he does not light a lamp and put it under his feet, but on a lampstand, so that no one can hide. The light here refers to Jesus Christ (John 1:4, 9, 8:12). The lamp represents the word of God (Psalm 119:105). The lampstand refers to the family. Therefore, the village on the mountain is a model of the church that illuminates the world. Rahab's house was on a mountain. It was on the wall. Therefore, it must be remembered that this house is a special house that anyone can see, but no one can easily come up with. Just as Noah's ark stayed on Mount Ararat, Rahab's house on the wall is a spiritual church. This is because the work of salvation was accomplished only here.
Earth 2: God's secret is hidden in Rahab's house.
The lavish pubs under the walls had no red stripes on their windows. That is, there was no prophet or man of God who had the mystery of God. However, in the house of Rahab the prostitute, two spies sent by Joshua hid under a three-generation altar (verse 6). Although not noisy, the secret of God, which is the core of salvation, was hidden here. So this place is special. It is a precious and gracious home. It is God's refuge and preparation place (Psalm 46:1). God clearly distinguishes the church of Satan from the church of God on the mountain. When Jericho City fell, all the houses under the sky were destroyed, but only the spiritual house above the wall, the house of Rahab, a prostitute who hid the secret of God, was saved. It became a spiritual house because we received Jesus Christ, the secret meaning of God's Word. Isn't that what we are today who believes in Jesus?
3 Earth: In Rahab's house, there was a song of life and spiritual wine.
Rahab's house is a stranger's house. Rahab's house is the place where the aimless footsteps that left her homeland stay (v. Here, they wash away their fatigue through the laughter of a gisaeng, soothe their tiredness through a song of a gisaeng, and soothe the empty heart and sorrow of a traveler with a glass of wine served by a gisaeng.
The Spiritual Church is also a place that plays this role. The door of the spiritual church is always open. Anyone can come. Weary, wandering, and lonely souls can come and complain in prayer, get drunk with the word of God and the new wine of the spiritual Spirit, and praise the joy, comfort, and peace of heaven (Acts 2:13). There is no rejection because of being poor, ignorant, or hurt.
The 4th Earth: There is a true confession of faith in Rahab's house.
When the king of Jericho heard the news of the spies' infiltration, he was terrified and brought Rahab to visit (verse 3). However, Rahab does not reveal the secret of God hidden in her heart and keeps it until the end. The Bible testifies that this is an act based on the power of Rahab's true confession of faith (verse 11). Rahab clearly confessed that there is only one God in the heavens and the earth. King Jericho is the incarnation of Satan in Revelation 12-13, and Rahab means the church that is saved and nurtured in the wilderness reserve, that is, the woman in Revelation 12. Isn't this the word that shows that the way to be saved in the midst of the 7-year tribulation is to be able to profess great faith by having two spiritual witnesses in her heart like Rahab? The spiritual church that believes and follows the words of prophecy has a reserve in the wilderness. You cannot profess a great faith without being nurtured and tested in this reserve. We cannot withstand the plots and persecutions of the Antichrist.
conclusion
There was no persecution by the king because the house of another prostitute did not receive two witnesses. The spiritual church is persecuted by the antichrist, but there is no need to worry because God's passionate love that others do not know is hidden in our hearts. You can only live by keeping the Word. We can overcome the 7-year tribulation only when we have the secret of the two witnesses in our hearts. Rahab knew the destruction of Jericho (verse 9). He also knew the mystery of Christ (verse 10). Furthermore, he even prepared a truthful mark to buy at the end (verse 13). Isn't that the red line hanging from the window, a symbol of the power and power of the blood of Christ? This is the gift of life that Rahab paid for her life. This red line is the secret that led to the reward of life that risked his own life and saved two witnesses. Let's have a secret too. You have to have secrets to live. The two witnesses were a secret to Rahab.
Just as the bitumen of the ark was a secret in the days of Noah and the blood of the sheep on the doorposts was a secret to the Israelites exodus from Egypt, we too must know the secret of the number of the 666 beasts to live in the last days. I ask you to light up our souls by lighting high lamps, become a spiritual church like Rahab, and become the saints who are saved through the secret work hidden in their hearts at the end of the day.
