▒▒▒ Isaiah 35:8-10
There are times when we find ourselves in a dilemma where we cannot do this or that and we feel difficult. The Israelites who had left Egypt were marching toward the land of Canaan. But then the great army of the king of Egypt pursued Israel, and the great Red Sea stood in front of them. The people of Israel find themselves in a dilemma where they cannot step back or move forward. Then the people of Israel pointed their fingers at Moses, saying, “Are there no burial places in Egypt, so that we die of hunger in the wilderness?” Moses prayed to God, and God answers him. “Be still today and see how God saves us.” God allowed the Israelites to cross safely by parting the Red Sea that stood in their way. In a situation where we could neither move forward nor retreat, God opened the way.
So how can we walk on a new path? Matthew 11:25 says, “O God, Lord of heaven and earth, I thank you for hiding this mystery from those who are wise and prudent and for teaching it to this child.” As you can see from these verses, the new path is not for those who say they are wise and prudent, but for those who are like children. A young child knows that he cannot live without the hands of his parents. Likewise, for those who, not of their own knowledge or wisdom, who believe that they cannot live without the Lord, like little children, the path is found, and they are those who can walk the new path. Luke 15 tells the parable of the lost sheep. The shepherd leaves the ninety-nine sheep in a pen and sets out to find the one lost sheep. Jesus came to retrieve the one lost sheep. Those who want to hear the voice of the Lord and follow that voice can live. So Jesus said, “I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will eat with him and live with him.” He says.
A lot of good things happen when you walk down that road. First, Jesus, who is the way, the truth, and the life, gives us life. Second, we become like the Lord. I believe that the glory of the Lord will dwell in us when we live a life of worship looking at the Lord.
