Contents "Blessing priming" Series IX: Word Seed/Mark 4:26-32
1. The Mystery of the Word Seed: Verses 30-32
Seeds are small and insignificant. But this tiny, seemingly insignificant seed is brimming with great life. Hidden within the apple seeds are the apple tree and the many apples that the tree will bear for decades. But it's not just apple seeds, cabbage seeds, radish seeds, and cucumber seeds. There are also word seeds. Just as radish seeds are giving birth to radishes and cabbage seeds are giving birth to Chinese cabbage, the word seed is giving birth to the kingdom of God. Sometimes it seems that there is no authority, but the word of God is the seed of the kingdom of God that is filled with the power and blessings of the kingdom. The word God has given is filled with the blessings and graces of the kingdom of God. Jesus also said that the seed of the word, which looks very small, grows into a great tree of the kingdom of God (verses 30-32).
2. The grace of receiving the seed of the Word: verses 30-32
Just as God gave the seed of the word to Abraham, Moses, the disciples, and many people of faith, he is giving us the seed of the word today. We need to know how God gives us the seed of the word, so that we can receive the seed of the word and cherish it.
First, God gives us the seeds of the Word through the Word. The entire Bible, the Word of God, is the Word Seed. As I read the Bible, there are times when certain words catch my eye. Those words took hold of my heart, from within me Amen! Amen! There are times when we respond with a word, and that word is the seed of the word from God. Likewise, while listening to the sermon, it captured my heart, Amen! Amen! The word that makes me respond is the seed of the word that God gives me. We must cherish those words and continually reflect on them in our hearts. Second, God also gives us seeds of the Word through prayer. There is a word that captures my mind and heart while praying, and that word is the seed of the word that God gives us. Third, sometimes the seeds of the Word are given through dreams and visions. According to the Bible, God has given the seeds of the Word to people of various faiths through dreams and visions.
3. Faith that sows the seed of the Word: verses 26, 31
Seeds should not be left alone. Seeds must be planted in order to grow and bear fruit. Likewise, the seed of the word must be planted. Planting cabbage seeds in the field is easy to understand, but planting word seeds may seem unfamiliar. But we can sow the Word Seed in the following ways.
It takes patience during the process from planting the word of God to us until it bears fruit. If we wait for what God will do and endure the time of the process with faith and patience, God will give us abundant fruit in His time.
