Bible: John 12:48
Title: The Word Will Judge
John 12:48 “There is one who will judge the one who rejects me and does not listen to my words, and the words I have spoken will judge him at the last day.” - Amen.
When the church speaks of the Word, it refers to the truth of the Bible as the Word, the sermon, and the words of exhortation...The true nature of the Word is God Himself (John 1:1), the Word that created the heavens and the earth (Genesis 1:1), and the Word took on flesh. Jesus is the one who has come (John 1:14). The judgment Jesus came and spoke is ultimately the words of God the Father. John 14:24 '...The words you hear are not mine, but the words of the Father who sent me.' Judgment in the text The word 'judge' appears twice, and the word krivnw means to distinguish, judge and interrogate, and it also means to divide into pieces. I would like to share the grace with this title of <The Word Will Judge>.
1. God's Word Sets Everything Right
The knowledge and wisdom of the world cannot grasp the essential problems of human beings. There is no solution either. It is not distinguished. That is why pluralistic religions and ideologies do not have true judgments, so they try to get along similarly. The Reformation was a movement of truth, and social reform was also possible through the gospel. God's word sets everything apart and sets it right.
When a believer listens to God's will, whether it is a sermon or exhortation, he must be able to distinguish between good and evil. The reason we do not know God's will is not because we have not learned it, but because our soul is dark. Because they rejected God's Word, they did not know who Jesus was, whether Jerusalem would fall, or what future would come. To the proud Jews who boasted only of tradition, John 8:37 “I also know that you are the children of Abraham, but you seek to kill me, because my words have no place in you.”
Paul said to the Corinthian church. 1 Corinthians 6:2 “Do you not know that the saints will judge the world? If the world will also be judged by you, are you not worthy to judge the smallest things?”
Living without knowing what life is and where it is going is like a sailboat drifting without a destination. Even if there are any teachers and culture is created, you cannot fully understand life and be happy. Only when we receive the Word of God, we can receive the light, know and discern the forces of darkness, and walk the right path.
2. God's Word becomes the standard for judgment in the last days
God will make the final judgment, and because the standard is His words and Jesus prophesied them, the authority of Jesus' words is the word of judgment according to the authority of God the Father's words. Of course, Jesus came to save the world. John 12:47 “… I did not come to judge the world, but to save the world” (John 3:17).
However, Jesus' words are ultimately the words of judgment in the last days. Text John 12:48 "There is one who will judge the one who rejects me and does not listen to my words, and the words I have spoken will judge him at the last day."
John 5:30 “I can do nothing of my own accord; as I hear, I judge; my judgment is just, because I seek not my own will but the will of him who sent me.
Just because a person comforts a person does not mean that he or she escapes judgment. No man can help those whom God punishes. In the old days, fathers had authority, so if one of the children did not listen and took a rod, they feared the father together, whether the older brother or the youngest, and did not dare stop the father's anger.
A truly good teacher is one who generously advises me to seek change. No matter how gracious you are, the operation is painful and requires hospitalization. Why do you want to be healed of a serious illness, but also enjoy treatment without pain? Is that a possible idea?
The biggest problem in today's church is the members' request for only comfort, away from the center of judgment that God's Word is judgmental. If time goes by without being healed by repentance, one day it will burn and burst into anger. There are no exceptions.
I pray that you and I will be able to open our spiritual eyes with the Word of God, gain discernment, and build our lives within the authority of the Word, which is the standard for judgment.
