Title Think of Lot's Wife

content le>

And it will be as in the days of Lot, when people ate and drank, bought and sold, planted and built houses, and on the day Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven and destroyed them. So it will be on the day of the appearing of the Son of Man. On that day, if a man is on the roof and his goods are in the house, he must not come down to pick it up, nor must he who is in the field turn back. Think of Lot's wife. Whoever wants to preserve his life will lose it, and whoever loses it will live. (Luke 17:28-33)

Sodom and Gomorrah were cities that prided themselves on material abundance. This is the lesson that we should not look back only on the ease of the flesh. When Lot chose Sodom and Gomorrah, he saw a fertile land flowing with milk and honey, but Abraham waited for God's blessing first and built an altar of prayer to God even if he took possession of the rocky hillside. Winning or losing has already been decided here. Lot's view of life, which saw the abundance of the earth and only the wealth of material things, had no choice but to enter the path of fall and destruction, and Abraham's view of life, looking at the blessings of a higher life, believing in God's blessings, had already won. The thing is that no matter how much material or wealth you accumulate, it will not make a person happy. This is a lesson not to look back on Sodom and Gomorrah of materialism and golden almighty. In order to pursue a higher value than that, humans did not become pigs that only eat and gain weight, but became humans.

The Israelites who came out in the wilderness wanted to return to Egypt with the thought of eating broth cooked in a meat kiln when they were slaves in Egypt. Moses rebuked this evil idea. Lot's wife turned into a pillar of salt while looking back at the burning gold and silver pieces she had left behind. I believe that what has made our people very sick in recent years is the slogan of prospering. No matter what you do, you have a nice house, a nice car, and the fun of living in luxury. Now, I have come to think of eating congee rice as if I was using some great generosity. There is no example in which a nation with such a mental state has not perished. We must run away from Sodom and Gomorrah, the materialistic and golden almighty world, and do not look back. If materialism is omnipotent, morals are corrupted, ethics are degenerate, and society is in disorder. Thus it becomes the city of sin, and the city of sin weeps for destruction. I lament that today Seoul is Sodom and Daegu, Busan, Jeonju, Gwangju, and Daejeon are not Gomorrah.

To think about Lot's wife is a lesson not to give up hope for the future by being complacent with reality. If a person's eyes are obsessed with reality, they cannot escape from that reality forever. The human eye can see right in front, but looking down at the root of the foot cannot go directly without getting caught. In recent years, our era has become the era of total realism, the era of cashism, and the era on the eve. When I tell them to prepare for tomorrow, they snort. However, paying attention to reality does not solve reality. Only those who see the future directly can see the reality, and only those who want to move forward toward the future can construct reality creatively.

Tomorrow is only in the hands of those who prepare for it. If I try to solve today's problems only today, that day will not be caught in my hand and will go away. The people of Israel looked forward to a future where they would win someday and prepared by waiting for 1,000 years and 2,000 years instead of one year and ten years. But see you next year in Jerusalem! It was prepared by waiting for a thousand years while exchanging greetings. Only those who look forward to tomorrow do not fall into today's safe reality, do not be disappointed in today's unhappy reality, and live with the joy of making today's unhappy reality a stepping stone to tomorrow's brilliant history creation process. . If you try to settle for reality, you become a pillar of salt.

Think of Lot's wife. Once you have been called and set out to fulfill your mission, you must not look back. Take the plow and do not look back. Once a mistake has been made, it is only a reminder and a lesson that will not be repeated, and it cannot be rectified. A person's learning of past history is merely to learn a lesson in order not to repeat the wrong things at that point of history. But the fact is that foolish people repeat yesterday's failures today. The path of life does not give you opportunities for repetition or retesting. If I live one day, my life for that day is over. It's just grading points. Every day of life is a very solemn judgment. Clouded yesterday and I can't write my life in its place again. I have to keep moving forward in order to fulfill my mission and the responsibilities I have promised. Only the remaining time ahead is my time to live, and the time behind is not mine anymore. I have to keep moving forward to create a better life, a more sincere tomorrow, a brighter tomorrow than my mission.

Looking back on the past, even if the past was splendid, is only a false consciousness unless it is transferred to the future as it is. We have no other choice but to create tomorrow's history based on today's reality, both nationally, personally, and ecclesially. Although the reality of today is dark. However, even in the darkness of Japanese colonial rule, we have lived with the hope of tomorrow, and we have the experience of believing and enduring tomorrow even in the despair of 6.25 Even now under communism in North Korea, some believers and freedom fighters will wait for tomorrow and live today. Those who prepare for tomorrow, wait for tomorrow, look forward to tomorrow, and create tomorrow fulfill their mission.

Tomorrow is always an uncertain law. Only the future of possibilities. That's why everyone is afraid to look at tomorrow, doubting it, and feeling anxious. What is Jesus' Resurrection? What is the Bible's promise? The Bible is a book that promises a brilliant tomorrow. The resurrection of Jesus is a token that rewards tomorrow's victory. Christianity is a religion that allows us to see tomorrow. In the last book of the Bible, Revelation, see, 'behold!' There is a saying to look forward to tomorrow and look up. History doesn't just exist today. I hope you all look forward to the future of this church. No one makes the design of tomorrow unhappy. Tomorrow is always a way to decorate with hope, success and blessings. People's unhappiness becomes more unhappy because they yearn for the past from today's misery, and they become more unhappy when they try to solve today's reality in today.

A double future is promised to the Christian. It is the future of history and the future of the soul. Both have a bright future. Therefore, for the Christian who lives in Christ, he is always filled with gratitude, excitement, and hope. Even among those who die trying to solve today's problems and become more entangled in the spider's web, and those who only yearn for the past and live to make today more unhappy, Christians believe in the hopeful promise of tomorrow and sublimate today's reality into a process of creation for tomorrow. To live is to live with the joy of victory.

Think of Lot's wife.
