Meditation: Today is the day Jesus stayed in the tomb, waiting for the morning of the Resurrection. Between the cross and resurrection, let's meditate on our identity saved through the death and resurrection of our Lord.
Confession of Faith: Apostles' Creed
Text: “These were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God” (John 1:13).
How can human beings gain the authority to become children of God? To those who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God (verse 12). There is no other way to salvation. When you accept Jesus, God's only way, as your Savior, you are given the authority to become a child of God. The Bible tells us that the only way to salvation is to accept Jesus. “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life” (John 3:16).
How, then, can a sinner receive Jesus as Savior? This is God's work. Therefore, it is not acquired by blood. It's not meant to be human. “Those who are born of God alone.”
So in John 3:3 Jesus says: "Jesus answered and said to them, "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God." So, being children of God is a privilege , a blessing, and a glory.
In John 6:44, Jesus said, "No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him, and I will raise him up at the last day." In becoming a child of God, even 0.1% of my efforts or merits have no effect. “Those who are born of God alone”. Therefore, those who are saved sing. “I was amazed by the grace that saved a sinner like me, and I found the life I had lost and gained light.” I live my whole life in gratitude for the grace of salvation.
Saints! We are "those born of God alone." Without the cross of Jesus on Holy Week, any penance or godliness is meaningless. Connect the cross of Jesus and your identity to have a grace-rich Passion Week.
Prayer: Oh, Lord. We are thankful that we are born only of God. Please do not forget this identity and let this grace be engraved throughout your life so that you may live like those born of God. I pray in Jesus name. Amen.
