Title To win (Ex 17:6-13)
The reality is that we cannot relax even for a moment because we are living in a harsh reality in which only those who overcome competitors survive in a world where silent bullets come and go in order for humans to exist enough to say that human life is a competition for survival in one word.
Faith is a higher level spiritual battle than this, the good fight of faith (1 Timothy 6:12). The saints always rejoice and give thanks so as not to show weakness to the adversary devil who does not know the truce. You can win spiritual battles when you are awake.
1. Eternal living water
The incident in which the Israelites rained manna from heaven and fed them with quails reminded us that man does not live only on grain from the earth, but lives on manna that comes down from the sky, and that humans need the spiritual manna that keeps them from hunger forever. enlightens me.
When they experience miracles, they expect that their faith will improve, but in reality, the Israelites witnessed numerous miracles, and while they were living on manna from heaven, they reached Rephidim in the wilderness of Sin and there was no water to drink. I did.
Exodus 17:2 The people quarreled with Moses, saying, Give us water to drink. And Moses said to them, Why do you quarrel with me? Why do you test the LORD?
Here, quarreling with Moses refers to a state of murmuring and dissatisfaction as if wielding violence, revealing the selfishness of corrupt humans and, in the extreme, unbelief that puts Jehovah God to the test.
The God of long-suffering love did not forsake these people of Israel, but struck Moses on the rock and made the people of Israel drink living water. Through the miracle of living water, the people of Jesus Christ, the living water that makes God's people never thirsty. He taught us that the blood of the cross is absolutely necessary (John 7:38, 1 Corinthians 10:4).
2. Battle with Amalek
When the people of Israel were committing the sin of testing the Lord God at Meribah, in Exodus 17:8, Amalek came and fought with Israel at Rephidim. This is the first war.
God did not lead the people of Israel to the Philistine road to avoid war, but they complained and complained, which led to a battle with Amalek. It was a war that was difficult for the Israelites to win.
Amalek are descendants of Esau, Jacob's older brother, and they are brothers like the Israelites, but they cannot help the Israelites on their way to Canaan, but they cowardly do not fear God, Deuteronomy 25:18 As it was said that you hit the weak who fell behind you because you were tired, you attacked the rear, aiming for weakness.
Not only the Amalekites, but also Satan, do not forget that today, in a world like the wilderness, when the saints lose their joy and gratitude, grumble and complain, and their faith becomes weak, they attack the church and the saints and fall into temptation. We must put our best efforts into giving thanks and giving thanks (1 Peter 5:8).
3. Jehoah Nissi
God, who works together for good, trained the people of Israel stronger through this battle with Amalek and made it an opportunity to unite the scattered hearts.
Until now, God had fought on behalf of God in the battle with Egypt, and the Israelites had only to do nothing and watch, but the battle with Amalek was different. made war with him (Exodus 17:9).
2) Moses took Aaron and Hur and went up to the high mountain where the battlefield was visible, as Joshua had said in Exodus 17:10 that Joshua would do as Moses said and fight against Amalek, and Moses, Aaron, and Hur would stand on the top of the mountain. I prayed.
It's easy to do one of two things people do when faced with a situation like this. One is a person who does not pray because it is a physical battle, but is devoted to fighting on the front line, and the other is a person who is afraid of going out to fight and prays only with the excuse that God will take care of everything if he stays behind and prays. person.
However, the battle with Amalek was not an option, but when the Israelites united, faithfully both in battle and in prayer, and sought God's help, Jehovah Nissi finally gave them the victory.
For Christians to win in the good fight of faith, even if they are sometimes thirsty, hungry, and fearful things such as war block the way, they should give thanks to God instead of grumbling and complaining, and earnestly seek God's help for comfort as the church and family unite instead of division. He is the God of Jehovah Nissi, who gives victory even today when we cry out and share our burdens (Galatians 6:2) and do our best with a fighting heart.
