Today is Father's Day. Dear parents, I bless you and may you be strong and blessed in the Lord for a long time to come. Also, I bless you, children of the Lord, to become children who truly respect and serve your parents. Respect for parents is not only the grace that gave birth and nurtured them, but also the law and command of God. Everyone is born as a child, grows up again, and becomes a parent. Therefore, God's law is that there are no self-proclaimed parents and no self-proud children. This is because all people become eternal children and eternal parents. So "Do you know what the scariest thing about being a parent is? It's the fact that your children will be like you. Do you know what is the greatest honor for a parent? It's your children. A parent's reward is your children. It is." ("Choi Hyo-seop Meditation Book").
First of all, children must obey their parents.
“Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right” (Ephesians 6:1; Proverbs 23:22). It is the law (law) established by God, the principle (law), the natural truth (general rule/basic), and the absolute command (commandment). It is a very specific and clear command of God and confirmation (For this is right.). It's not something special, it's a common sense of responsibility. Special laws are enacted when general laws are not followed. People love special things. The Bible says that in the last days, they will disobey their parents and do not give thanks (2 Timothy 3:1-5). God doesn't want anything special. You want something very straightforward. It is to obtain authority, whether parent or child, according to the general law set by God. Parents, husbands, wives and children do not meet by chance. Do you believe this? How can there be such a thing as a coincidence in the life that God provides? Obedience to and respect for parents is a requirement and unchanging truth of God who is the absolute.
Second, the general truths ordained by God must be put first.
First, "Honor your father and mother" (Ephesians 6:2; Exodus 20:12). Adults should be treated as adults. This is order and morality. If an adult insists, follow it. This is it. It has already been said that it is a blessing to have a heart to be filial. If someone is doing well or not, there is no peace in their heart. But if you unconditionally lose, you will find peace immediately. But it's painful. It hurts and hurts my pride, but peace comes. We must not miss this one. When it comes to what sin is, sin is pride. It is a great pride that cannot stand even the authority of God. Sin is my insistence on being right. Whether it's God, a grown-up, or my parents, I can't stand what they say to me. That's a sin.
This is because we are missing an important principle. When it comes to whom God's wrath is revealed, it is revealed to the unrighteous. That's why the Bible always says this, but it doesn't make you ungodly when you do unrighteous things, but it says that you become unrighteous because you are ungodly (Rob 1:18). If you do not know God, you become unrighteous. "If salt loses its taste, what is it to be salted? After that, it is of no use, except that it is thrown out and trampled on by men" (Matthew 5:13). Isn't it? This is our battle (Matthew 23:23-24). First, obey God (Matthew 6:33). Do you believe in God? I tell you this clearly. Don't be nice to the pastor in the first place, be better to your parents, your husband, your wife, your children. This is the one who keeps the commandments of God. Hallelujah!!
