Colossians 2:6-12
What is belief? Asking this question can give you several answers. A little symbolically speaking, we can say, 'Faith is the distance between Jesus and me'. The closer you get to Jesus, the better your faith is, and the farther you are from Jesus, the more your faith becomes cloudy.
do you believe in jesus When asked, everyone will say, "Yes, I believe. Why are you asking something like that again?" would say Do you know Jesus? When asked, most of you will say, “Yes, you know. Born in Bethlehem, raised in Nazareth, his father is Joseph and his mother is Mary. And he rose from the dead on the third day. Now he ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God." You will answer this. A saint who answers only this much is a great saint.
But again, how many times have you called on the name of Jesus last week? Wouldn't it make you think for a while if you ask me? Please think for a moment. How many times have I thought of Jesus or called on His name in the past week? Of course, when you prayed, you must have said 'in the name of Jesus.....' Other than that, how many times have you called on the name of Jesus with a heart that truly loves Jesus and a heart that thinks of Jesus? "Jesus!, my Lord, Jesus!" Like this.
The one you love will have a full heart. That name keeps ringing in my head and never leaves. Lovers, of course. Few people think of their parents that way, but many of them think of their children that way.
I also spent a week feeling relieved last week that our second child was receiving guerrilla training. While laying in bed, where is this guy sleeping outside? Even while eating, this guy spends outdoors, so what is he eating? There was an accident due to an accidental shot during training. Is this guy okay?....... Why? Is it because I love you? Because I love you, I think of you even when I’m in a good place, when I eat good things, I think of good things, I think of good things, I think of them when it’s hot, I think of them when I sleep, and because of love, don’t you just fill your head with the name?
do you love jesus It's a very embarrassing question. However, if we lose Jesus in our life of faith, our faith will be reduced to a non-religious faith without our knowledge. Non-religious beliefs mean shamanic beliefs, or shamanistic beliefs. would you like to see The characteristics of shamanism and shamanism are usually analyzed in four ways. I remember reading and reporting a very thick book on shamanism when I was in seminary.
The first is temporal. It means that you are focused on doing well in this world and living well in this world.
The second is ups and downs. He is only interested in receiving blessings in anything. It means that you are sacrificing yourself and have no will to follow the will of heaven, and you are just filled with the desire to be blessed.
Third, it is unethical. It means that if I am blessed and it works well for me, I don't care what other people do. It doesn't matter if this is right or not. It doesn't matter what the world is, whether it's polluted or harmful, just because I'm doing well.
Fourth, it is amorphous. I used some difficult words. In other words, it has no shape. Like smoke or water, in a square place it becomes a square, and in a round place it becomes a round shape. So what happens? It's going to be a very scary thing. This means that it can permeate anywhere, be contained anywhere, and go anywhere. It secretly permeates into Buddhism, leaving only the outside of Buddhism and changing the inside. The principle of Buddhism is to break the ties of the world and enter the world of the Buddha, but the reason why it is filled with things such as offering Buddhist services to become successful in the world, and being filled with things such as Chilseongdo, fortune-telling, etc., is because non-religion has permeated into it. That's it. The principle of Confucianism is to break superstitions and focus on human relationships, but it is a miscellaneous ghost play that says that if you use the cemetery well you will be blessed, that if you do well in the cemetery, you will be blessed, and that a ghost will come and eat you. has changed. It was because the shamanism somehow permeated and forgot all the inner kernels.
If we Christians lose Jesus, we will go through the same process. If you just believe in God and stay on what you want to be good for, it will happen soon. I was saved by the grace of the cross of Jesus, so that I became a child of God by the grace of Jesus, so that my name was written in the book of life in the kingdom of God, so even though I live in the world, I am not perfect, but sometimes I fall, but still If we forget to live like God's children, we too will fall into the same secular, temporal, unethical, and ups and downs of faith.
Words reveal a person's thoughts and character. If you listen to what a person is saying a lot, you can see the inner side of the person. Think about your past week for a moment. Or just think about what happened yesterday. What words did you use the most? Could it be that Jesus never called on the name of Jesus other than eating and praying?
Even when reading and sometimes teaching the Bible, there is nothing left unless Jesus is at the center of the Word. Without Jesus, if the grace of the cross fades, what remains of the Word is morality among people, let's live right. Let's have a vision. Don't be discouraged. Let's live and be blessed. What else could be possible other than that?
I said at the beginning that faith is the distance between Jesus and me. The story of Abraham without Jesus, the story of Moses without Jesus, the story of David without Jesus, so what is it? Do you want to be rich like Abraham? Do you want to become a great leader like Moses? Do you want to be king like David? If you go to bookstores around the world, there are plenty of better books for such stories and life skills.
Jesus who saved my soul and was crucified for me, to realize His grace, to appreciate His grace, to feel His love, and to want to live in His name, that is the Christian life is.
In any gathering in the church, the more we gather, the stronger our faith in Jesus becomes, the praise is to praise the name of Jesus, and every flower arrangement should be a bouquet of praise to give thanks for the name of Jesus. It should be a meeting. Often, for first-time believers, for a soft atmosphere, these meetings and other gatherings are organized. That's a good thing. That's wise. But what's the point if you don't go to Jesus in the end? So, in the end, what's the meaning of that fellowship if you don't end up reading the Bible diligently? So, in the end, if we do not pray fervently while earnestly confessing to the Lord, is such wisdom and effort bearing fruit?
In today's text, the Apostle Paul exhorts us.
Therefore, since you have received Christ Jesus as Lord
to be rooted and built up in him,
As you have been taught, stand firm in the faith, overflowing with thanksgiving. Colossians 2:6-7
Unknowingly, worldly values and worldly thoughts corrupt our beliefs from within, and we are telling you to be wary of whether such worldly things have flowed into your thoughts, beliefs, and actions.
Beware lest anyone plunder you with philosophy and vain deceit
This is according to the traditions of men and the elementary learnings of the world, and not according to Christ. 2:8
Elders, why did God appoint you as elders? He was appointed as an elder not because he became a representative of the church or because of his long religious experience. He became an elder in the name of Jesus, and he appointed elders to testify of Jesus. God has given us a precious position to hold Jesus in our hearts, to love Jesus, and to testify of Jesus. I hope you will become more like Jesus and become elders who testify of Jesus.
Ladies and gentlemen, what is the purpose of God's designation of you as priests? Kwonsa means one who encourages and comforts. What do you recommend? It is recommending Jesus. In whose name are you comforting? It is comforting in Jesus name. How can you encourage Jesus without embracing Jesus, and how can you find comfort in that name if you are not like Jesus? Try to be like Jesus, dedicate yourself according to the will of Jesus, and become priests who recommend in the name of Jesus.
Deacons, become deacons who serve in the name of Jesus. Be deacons who serve with gratitude while remembering the grace given by the Lord. If Jesus is removed from our faith, it will end up being a burdensome service and difficult to sustain.
Dear brothers and sisters, what are you attending church for? Faith is believing in Jesus. Jesus is the center of our faith. Knowing the grace of Jesus, believing in the love of Jesus, and living like Jesus is the life of faith. For some people, it may not happen all at once. However, we must not forget that Jesus is the goal that we must believe and follow.
I am afraid sometimes. Every time I think about whether I am doing well in the work of the Lord that the Lord has entrusted to me as a person sent by God, I feel terrified. Am I witnessing the word so that the image of Jesus is clearly engraved in the faith of the saints? Are the saints well nurtured so that they can live clearly as children of God? Are you feeding the sheep God has entrusted to you so that they can grow up healthy? Are you properly building up the faith of the church, the body of the Lord? I myself will kneel before God with a trembling heart.
you were buried with Christ in baptism,
And through faith in the work of God who raised him from the dead
were raised together. Colossians 2:12
Let's call on the name of Jesus at this time. Let's call it three times. Not unconditionally out loud, but in truth, Jesus! Jesus! Jesus! Just calling it brings tears to my eyes. Why? In my heart calling on that Jesus, I say, "Thank you, Jesus who saved me. Jesus who knows me, guide me on my way. Jesus, who became my target, I long to be like you." because it has a meaning. Because there is an answer from the Lord to my sincere calling. Hallelujah!
I pray that you will become saints who long for Jesus, call on the name of Jesus, take Jesus as the goal, and run the path of faith in your life, in faith, and wherever you are.
