Title Trash Can/Genesis 3:17-24
content trash can/Genesis 3:17-24
The text is the scene where Adam and Eve are cast out. He said, 'This man has become like one of us in knowing good and evil.' God expels humans from the Garden of Eden for fear that humans will have eternal life by eating of the tree of life.
“And on the east side the cherubim, and the flaming sword that turned every way, and the way to the tree of life, the LORD.
And God made and clothed them with skins for Adam and his wife” (Genesis 3:20-21).
In this scene, Bon Hooper wrote in [The Epistle to Prison], "What cannot be fixed must be hidden." It is God who has hidden it.
What is the difference between a clean house and a dirty house? A clean house is a house in which garbage is in a bin, and a dirty house is a house in which garbage is scattered. This is the part we often misunderstand. When we become clean people, we think that 'dirty thoughts do not come out' in our minds. However, there is not a single place in the Bible where a believer is mentioned as 'a person whose evil thoughts will never arise again in his heart'. He is just a person who has to press the thoughts that arise. He is just a person who never speaks evil words and does not put evil thoughts into action.
We are perplexed by the thought of such thoughts because we believe that no evil thoughts arise when we believe in Jesus. Then he gets tuberculosis and abuses himself.
Is it worse for a person to curse at the back or at the front? It's much worse than swearing in front of you. However, if you swear from behind, they will be criticized as fatal. However, swearing behind the scenes is being polite. What you cursed before is that you want to fight. Cursing behind the scenes is an attitude not to fight.
'Things that cannot be fixed must be kept hidden.' Humility is running away when you can't handle it. Saying 'I can't do this' is humbling. It is arrogance to think that if we decide to do what the Bible says, 'Let us love, let us serve, and be faithful. It is arrogance to think that one's abilities will be simple without looking back. People should know that it is not so simple, and that the 'love, joy, and peace' that God requires of us is not of such a low level. It is a level of a much higher personality. It takes a lot of time to fix it, and you have to admit that it takes a lot of process. So, there is nothing more courageous than confessing, 'I can't do this' when we encounter certain things.
A clean person is one who carries a handkerchief in his pocket. Handkerchiefs are not meant to be kept clean, but to be wiped off when they come out of the nose and whenever there is something dirty. There are many things we have to hide. If you can't fix it, you have to hide it.
When it comes to reconciling with someone, it doesn't come so easily. This is the passage where we need to understand how deeply and mysteriously God made man. This is a text that reminds us that God had no choice but to use the cross as a way to save mankind. It reminds us of how much we treat humans and how great humans were created before God. In a sense, it should be tolerated that others insult you from behind. We need to understand that there are some things that we can barely get past only by blaming others from behind, and in doing so, we need to broaden our hearts to forgive others. A heart of love and forgiveness does not come easily. He has experienced and corrected many fatal mistakes of trial and error and frustrating personality defects. Everyone is tempted by filth and filth in their hearts. I am not a clean person without it
