Sermon Day-070114 Sunday Noon

Text - Psalm 146:5

Title - Trust

During World War II, a British special forces soldier from Nepal went missing in the jungles of Myanmar.

The British army, besieged by the Japanese enemy, determined to have little chance of surviving, and abandoned the search.

However, after four months of disappearance, the soldier returned to the unit with a map in his hand after wandering nearly 2,240 kilometers.

But to my surprise, the map in the soldier's hand was not a map of the Myanmar jungle, but a tourist map of the city of London.

The soldier from Nepal succeeded in escaping the jungle in the enemy camp with the intention of returning to England and visiting London after the war was over.

In this way, the power of hope is truly great.

If you can overcome all kinds of adversity even with this little hope, then, saints with the hope of heaven, what more words do you need?

Now, in this sermon, we will share grace by examining the meaning of the word ‘hope’ taught in the Bible.

1. Assured of the Lord's Salvation

The word ‘hope’ means ‘to trust’ in the Bible.

Those who have hope in heaven must trust in the Lord's salvation.

How can a person who does not have the confidence and trust that the Lord has forgiven their sins and promised salvation, hope for heaven and expect to enter the kingdom of heaven?

It can never be.

Therefore, those who hope for heaven must have faith in the assurance of salvation.

There is still no hope for heaven, and is there anyone who has greater hope and expectation in this world?

Please check the issue of salvation once.

Please bear in mind that most of those who have weak expectations or hopes for heaven are not even sure about salvation.

Yehwa-[Jeon Young-ho's Christian Humor] Rolled toilet paper

“My days are swifter than a loom's drum; I spend them hopelessly” (Job 7:6)

Comparing the speed of life to a roll of toilet paper is quite relatable. Because the more you use it, the faster it spins out of control.

Isn't it the same as the futility of our lives that, depending on the speed of the return towards the vertex, the feeling of nervousness about lifespan is added?

That is why, while many people are dissatisfied with their own pace of life, they are very tolerant of the pace of life of others.

A good example of this is “Oh my, it seems like yesterday that you were bleeding your nose, did you notice it?” “No, any comedian is already over 80? Time goes by really quickly.” Etc. I wonder if he was saying that he stopped saying ‘Eoreum!’ like a children’s game.

Husband: At our wedding, the officiating pastor must be old now, right?

Wife: That's right. I got married when I was 25, and the pastor was 50 at the time.

Husband: That's right, your age was exactly your age!

Wife: Well, then I am 40 now, so the pastor must have just turned 80.

Not only that, the older you get, the more likely you will be to get comfort from someone other than yourself.

A 60-year-old single elder who is alone was introduced to a female evangelist through the arrangement of a male evangelist.

Elder: (in prayer) Lord! I like them all, but I don't like their age. If possible, I would be more grateful if you could give me a mate who is 20 years younger than me.

It is said that after praying, a miracle happened. In other words, prayers were answered. What kind of miracle?

Well, you say that the elder has turned into an 80-year-old old man in an instant. Anyway, prayers have been answered.

“Life is born for trouble, as sparks fly upward” (Job 5:7).

Even if you live with these words in your heart, you wouldn't be nervous, but it's a pity that you're resentful about the rolls of toilet paper that run at lightning speed without any countermeasures.

2. Confidence in the Blessing of the Lord

The psalmist said that blessed are those who put their hope in God.

Why? Because God is the source of blessing.

Therefore, those who put their hope in God and have confidence in Heaven should not doubt God's blessing.

Let's think about it.

Wouldn't God, the source of blessing, grant great and wonderful blessings to His people, who put their hope in you and gave up the pleasures and pleasures of the world?

It is not.

A believer who has hope in heaven, a believer who has hope in God, must believe and be certain that he will receive abundant blessings from God and enjoy it.

Even though God's blessings are clearly promised, aren't we happy and joyful?

Abraham received the promise of Canaan, and although that promise had not yet been fulfilled, he had hope that God would fully give Canaan to his descendants in the future, and finally saw the fulfillment of the promise 430 years later.

God blesses those who believe in it.

Our members are those who have been promised the kingdom of heaven through Christ and are living with the hope of heaven.

Because of this hope, the saints are able to overcome adversity even when it is difficult, difficult, lonely, and hardships.

Is this heavenly hope located deep in the hearts of all of you?

If not, please check our faith once again at this time. And grab hold of the heavenly hope
