Sermons for Preaching

Title Two applicants

Since I am also in charge of the church, I am in a position where I cannot easily think about where I am going on a Sunday. However, since he was commanded to preach the word, I wanted to be an excuse for our church, so I asked the church members for their understanding and ran to them. Anyway, sorry for coming late and nice to meet you.

I remember talking about the renewal and hope of the Korean church at a seminar hosted by the Saegil Cultural Center last time. That's why the subject always comes to mind when I engrave it. So, according to the text you gave me today, I would like to speak on such a topic.

Renewal of the Korean Church Where is the hope of the Korean Church possible?

When I put this problem like this, however, I think that this is not just the hope of the Korean church, but also the story of the hope of our society and the hope of history. The hope of the church cannot be just for the church itself.

The text we read together today is the story of the scene where Jesus uses people. Today's title was given that way, but for convenience, it can be said that there are two applicants. It's not exact. There were two men who wanted to follow Jesus. It is said that one was a scholar of the law and the other was a disciple, but that is not so important. Isn't it the appearance of a person that matters? What kind of qualification, what job, what position, etc., can't reveal everyone. So, doesn't it say that people look at the outward appearance, but God looks at the heart?

Anyway, two men come before Jesus and they and Jesus talk about following Jesus. And one of them was allowed to follow Jesus by Jesus and the other was rejected.

Don't you guys need someone like this? Isn't it necessary to have such a person in order to build a new kingdom of life by overturning all the culture of death in this work of opening history, the arrival of the kingdom of God? As there is a saying that greetings are everything, you need to use people well, but if you miss such a person, isn't it already wrong?

But Jesus rejects him. The tone is firm. Foxes have dens and birds of the sky have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay his head. Simply put, you can't. You don't deserve to follow where I'm going yet.

And Jesus notices a very strange person and selects him. What kind of person is he? Disappointingly, he is the one who says this. “Lord, please let me go home first and bury my father.” No, what did Jesus say? Didn't we tell you to seek first the kingdom of heaven and his righteousness in the preceding chapter 6? But now, is this the right attitude to use other excuses in the face of the grave task of following Jesus and fully committing to the movement for the Kingdom of God? Isn't it blurry?

He knew the way of Jesus, that it was the right way, that it was the way to risk his life, but he was swayed in front of that human arrangement in the face of his father's death. He was a man who was determined to be in heaven, but at the same time, he was still shaken and tormented by human values. Hesitating and hesitating. It hurts and it hurts.

But Jesus rejected a man who had that clear philosophy, belief, and belief, but Jesus chose him with terrifying words. "Commit the burial of the dead to the dead, and follow me." What does this mean? Isn't that a declaration that all ethics and morals disappear? Did Jesus not know how many nonessential controversies he had to engage in because of the enormous misunderstanding this statement would bring? To the adversaries who are aiming for Jesus, isn't this kind of Jesus' blunders really a good source of attack?

How often do we experience this in our history? If these words start to appear in newspapers like Cho Jung-dong, won't the Jesus movement come to an end? How ruthless is Jesus? The class liberationist Jesus who trampled on humanity? Maybe an editorial with a title like this would be published?

Still, I can't miss you. No matter what kind of criticism I face because of you, I will make sure that you are my disciple. Isn't it a declaration that you are absolutely necessary for the will of heaven to be planted on earth? Here's a proper face strategy, some tactical calculation, isn't it a heavenly event where all these things become nothing?

What the heck do you mean/ Why couldn't Jesus be able to miss him in the end while leaving such a large crowd? Because this person who knows how to be shaken and tormented in front of human affection is the hope of the history of the seed of the kingdom of heaven, isn't it because the hope of a new history that overturns all the old things in the Jesus movement comes from dawn through such people?

I think there is a very sharp and acute confrontation in today's text. The confrontation between a person of good faith and a good person, the battle between the clarity of ideology and ideology and the gray color of anguish and agony,

What side is Jesus giving? Through whom is Jesus making a leader in your historical Jesus movement?

Who is the Korean church on today's side?: Through whom are we trying to create the hope of history?

In this country where ten million people believe in Christ, there is no church in all the country, but isn't the doctrinal and ideological belief that puts all human values behind the Korean church today/ Why is there so much conflict in the church, the body of Jesus? Does this not stop? Isn't it because of the so-called good faith people? When a fight breaks out in the church, it doesn't stop easily. Even when people who don't believe get tired and quit, people who believe in Jesus get refreshed through prayer.

At the last moment of your history, do you know what will happen when the kingdom of heaven comes? Demonstrations are held in places such as Yeouido and Daehangno. A lot of people will gather and protest the injustice, holding up a Frank card. The frankcard would say something like this:

: There are doubts about entering the kingdom of heaven. Is God Awakening?

This is not my point. Jesus' words. Look at Matthew 7:22. On that day many people cried to me Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, cast out devils in your name, and perform many miracles in your name? I would say it is timely.

How trustworthy are we? They are the people who made the miracle of world missionary work. Do you know how many cancers and incurable diseases you have cured/ Didn't it say that we can be saved only in the name of Jesus? Now, isn't that different? The day will come when Jesus will be questioned and questioned like this.

Everyone ! There were two applicants. One follows Jesus and the other is rejected by Jesus. Who are we?

Faith, true faith is not in language or logic or doctrine or slogan. Not even in a profound theological book. It is on the way of people. In order to stand on the path of the true man, the true path of life will be opened at the cross that each of us must bear inevitably on the path of anguish and anguish. And through that very cross, history will advance and a new kingdom will come.

The true hope of history is today, only by those who know how to suffer, in pain, and suffering in order to walk the path of the true man, and through those who carry their crosses and climb Golgotha Hill in agony for the path of the true man, the history of heaven is on this earth. will stretch out

Heavenly grace overflows to all of you who open a new path for Christianity in Korea, where the spirituality of the cross, the spirituality of agony and anguish, and the human spirituality where you can finally feel the body temperature and breath come alive.
